Not saying that is enough. With that said the contract is what it is. I’d rather him show effort then be like McNeil or Davis and sulk.Personally want more than that given the ridiculous boatload he makes
Human nature to boo. With that said tell me one player who said I played better because I was tired of hearing boos
Calling the fans out is really something.
Baez is a cancer. Don't sign him at season end.
Yup… either way, Baez is not coming back!!!
Agree. I want Stro back but I'm not sure he wants to come back or if the team will have the cash to sign him. Cohen needs to commit to going over the cap. As far as Nimmo goes, agree completely. That's why I wanted Springer so badly in the
Not saying Baez is wrong to feel that way but alientaring the fans is one way to ensure you won’t be back, and that’s ok with me. Javy is all about Javy and he would rather look good than the team win. Just another sign that he is too mentally fragile to succeed in NY in the long run.I had been advocating for Baez to return before hearing about the thumbs down thing. Let him walk and spend the money on Bryant, who I do not believe can be qualified and cost a draft pick. Let him play 3B and LF. If he plays 3B, with Lindor at short and Pete at 1B we have the potential for a powerhouse infield. Cano and McNeil can share second and then focus on trading for an outfielder. Baez can mope somewhere else.
Would rather he suspend him for a game than talk to him.Statement from Sandy
STATEMENT FROM METS PRESIDENT SANDY ALDERSON
In a post-game press conference today, Javy Baez stated that his “thumbs down” gesture during the game was a message to fans who recently…newyorkmets.medium.com
Outstanding.
And fine him too.Would rather he suspend him for a game than talk to him.
Any disciplinary action the Mets try to impose will be unsuccessful. The MLBPA will immediately file a grievance and they will win.Mets should grow some balls and release Baez and suspend Lindor and pillar
And Lindor would laugh in his face. Well maybe he wouldn't, but he could.Fans should boo everyone all game tomorrow. Bunch of losers
Cohen should Fire everyone and Have new GM trade as many as you can and make a statement that this won’t happen under his ownership
I was with you up until the last bullet point. Stop sucking up to Lindor? They freakin' married the guy! (In the metaphorical sense, of course.) IF they picked the wrong life partner (and I'm not saying they did or they didn't) then the damage is done. This would be one expensive divorce. Let's all hope it doesn't come to that.- Very unprofessional of Lindor ,Baez and Pillar.
- Rojas has completely lost control of team.
- Maybe someone should tell Lindor and gang that you wont get booed if you play well. If you suck, you get booed.
- And Cohen and management need to stop sucking up to Lindor. This is a BIG problem and I'm sure within the clubhouse as well.
There’s a Cadre of guys on this board who used to say that this team is “special” and that there’s a good culture that should not be disturbed. Resilient is another word that popped up a lot, even though its only defining characteristic seemed to be winning after losing, something a .500 team does a lot.
I’ve never been sure that there’s much fight in this team. Now, that doesn’t matter as much as talent, which has been the real problem. But it matters some. Of course, I’d be happy to be wrong.
On point two - agreed. If a new losing streak starts he’ll be done before the end of the year.- Very unprofessional of Lindor ,Baez and Pillar.

Baez has played ok since he’s been in NY but the team is 9-20 since he’s arrived. Perhaps he’s a bigger cancer than I even thought.Way to go Sandy. Baez is a joke.

Stroman is not wrong. Without getting political. The media is highly responsible for the division and rancor in this country. Turning to sports, one reason I never listen to sports radio and shun much social media, is they love to stoke division and rancor amongst fans and between fanbases. It's great for ratings and clicks.
Isn't that the mayor from Ghostbusters? Is this a scene from Ghostbusters 2?Bonus points if you can name the movie.
No, Stroman is entirely wrong on this one IMO. Let's review:Stroman is not wrong. Without getting political. The media is highly responsible for the division and rancor in this country.
