Exactly, 100% all the time.Hustle !!!
Pitcher knew he had to hurry because Nimmo always runs to first !!!
Forget why they dumped d'Arnaud? He finished second in All Star voting. The sad thing is the Mets had Brandon Drury last year and let him go at the end of the season. I thought Drury displayed enough skills to merit another shot at being on the team this year.
He was hurt almost every yearForget why they dumped d'Arnaud? He finished second in All Star voting.
They should have had the foresight he would blossom like Justin Turner and Daniel Murphy did. Maybe its the Mets? 🤷♂️He was hurt almost every year
The training staff under the Coupons was iffy at best. A hang nail required surgery and a stint on the DL for 6 months. And the old management team was always looking for cheap guys as the answer to all of their problems. He was hurt almost every year
d'Arnaud only played in 60 games last year. The training staff under the Coupons was iffy at best. A hang nail request surgery and a stint on the DL for 6 months. And the old management team was always looking for cheap guys as the answer to all of their problems.
d'Arnaud missed almost the entire 2018 season with injuries, after having missed parts of every prior season in his Met tenure. Mets signed Wilson Ramos as his 2019 replacement. Then when d'Arnaud got off to a horrible start in 2019, they cut him loose. I can assure you that this decision prompted no outrage from Met fans at the time. They should have had the foresight he would blossom like Justin Turner and Daniel Murphy did. Maybe its the Mets? 🤷♂️
Duda should have been traded and Murph put at 1b after 2015. Not 20/20 hindsight on my sight as I told everyone in my section that during 2015. Duda was too clumsy / too inconsistent and should have sealed his fate with that horrid throw to home in the world seriesd'Arnaud missed almost the entire 2018 season with injuries, after having missed parts of every prior season in his Met tenure. The Justin Turner decision was I think simply matter of Wilponian parsimony. He was arbitration eligible and the Mets didn't want to shell out $2MM for a utility guy. No one could have foreseen he'd develop into someone who'll get HOF votes. Also, there were whispers that the fun-loving Turner was considered a bad influence on Matt Harvey, who was "the franchise" at the time. How true that was, and to what degree it played into Met decision making, I cannot say.
At this close of the 2015 season, the Mets were done with Daniel Murphy, his very shaky glove, and his questionable baseball IQ. Yes he had an insane 2015 postseason (up to the WS, when he slumped). He was not an in-demand free agent and the Nats only signed him after their Plans A and B fell through.
I know Fernando Tatis (the elder) wore it, not sure he was the last. EDIT - Looked it up, yes Tatis was the last.Quick no look trivia question. Who will be the last person to have worn #17 for the Mets. Some famous ones I remember were Felix Millan and didn't David Cone wear #17 for a while?
Not one year was she’d for dArnaud. He was injured every year and was even injured last year. Good for him for having a great 2022 season.d'Arnaud missed almost the entire 2018 season with injuries, after having missed parts of every prior season in his Met tenure. His first baseman got ejected for arguing balls and strikes after the third out. Mattingly got ejected after that.An improbable ending, spurred by little league fielding by the Marlins. What was Donny baseball arguing over when he was ejected?
After the 2015 season, no one really wanted Murphy. The guy whom both the Mets and Nats wanted was Ben Zobrist, who instead signed with the Cubs. Not one year was she’d for dArnaud. He was injured every year and was even injured last year. Good for him for having a great 2022 season.
Turner was an ok player but had no clue he would turn out to be a good player in LA. Maybe all he needed was to be at one regular spot instead of playing all over the place like he did in NY.
It was asinine that Murphy was let go after that 2015 regular season and playoffs. Maybe all he needed was to be at one regular spot instead of playing all over the place like he did in NY. He also did well first two years in Washington so it wasn’t a contract year fluke.
I know it's just an expression, but a Met win would not be against the bookmaker odds. Game is either a pick-em or Mets are slight favorite.Today is called find a way. Against all odds. Walker will pitch a good game though.
time for the bum to retire........my 1973 classmate and graduate of the belleville h.sTwo calls by Cuzzi changing entire game
Not to be mean, but McCann to the IL isn't a bad thing. Maybe it starts the ball for management to address one of the team's issues.McCann to the 10 day IL. Buck expects him to be out much longer. Mazeika back up. No move on Marte. Yet. Fingers crossed big time.
Spoke too soon on McCann. He's on IL. Mazeika up.Neither Marte nor McCann are in the lineup, but neither one has been placed on IL - yet.
Yup. And he couldn’t throw anybody out at second.d'Arnaud only played in 60 games last year.
I think Walker couldn't pitch past a certain point in the season last year. He was still recovering from an injury. He wasn't stretched out. Walker probably can't go deeper (end of August) in the season if he is still pitching every five days. It might work to the Mets' advantage by skipping him once or twice after the all-star break to help last for the entire season.Walker !!!! Fantastic !!!!
