Ceremony was great. Was shocked he kept it together. Worth the trip out to Queens.
Hot AF in the sun though. Retreated inside for a couple innings. Piazza club is pretty decent.

Pitch was not that wild. Obvious cross up with Nido who had just entered the game. Shit happens.
Lindor is leaning hard to his right for the ball to stay fair. The pitcher is leaning the other way for it to go foul.

Ottavino... please DFA him.
Give the other guys like Hunter, Holderman, or Medina a chance. The Mets need to find someone soon.

What am I missing with Lugo and Ottavino- neither of them have had a bad year. Both have pitched very well over the past 2 weeks and Lugo solid and Ottavino very good over the past 30 days.
Even when they don't give up a run, it is high stress for the team. Nothing comes easy, and it seems to be every time they pitch now.
Disagree on Otto. The three you named are not Better then him. Now Lugo………different story
The problem is- there isn't much better then those two out there that we can get- this is typical for middle relief.
I know, but insanity is repeating the same thing and expecting different results. It can't be any worse by trying Holderman, Hunter, etc.
When you're in tight games all late innings are stressful. And due to the lack of offense on the team there's seldom much margin for error since 1 pitch often can decide the game.
It doesn't matter with certain guys. It's part of their DNA these days. Folks said Ottavino is not the same since the Yankees, and he's shown that to be true. Lugo has been up and down over the last 2+ seasons. People talk about his spin rate on his curve, but he can't even get it across the plate.
The Mets need to get back to being aggressive. Right now, it seems every guy is trying too hard.
FYI: I don't like middle relievers. They don't belong.
Was less this way earlier in the season but right now it seems very difficult for the team to score at all unless its via a home run. Shades of the last 2 years.
Why would any team throw a Mets hitter anything other than a slider? They will fish every time.
This team has stopped running. Stealing a base is foreign. It does seem everyone is trying to hit home runs.
