Walker was not happy at all about the shift leading to a run.
No pitcher ever is. They don't seem to mind it though when the shift saves them runs, as it does more often than not.

Anyway, he likely won't have to worry about it next year, when he's pitching for whomever.

We need to re-sign him
IDK. If we re-sign Jake (which will not be cheap), and if Bassitt exercises his $19MM option, and if Carrasco reaches his innings threshold and his option vests... I mean you can't pay everybody.

Well maybe Uncle Steve can.

It's not all the ump. You must have forgotten he was very good for us last year. Besides the Cubs have had some issues with the ump also. Ask David Ross. Have to reach him in the clubhouse though.
Stroman got far more calls than Walker. Nimmo's called third strike was as bad as it gets. Missing a few calls can be the difference in the game. Overall, the umpires are far worse than ever.

News for you. Stro was out of the game on that Nimmo at bat. Different pitcher In the game now. You gonna blame in on the ump that all 3 batters struck out that inning?

Oh no, not even close to a decade or so ago before every game was reviewed. Back then, you never saw the high strike called. Now you do, which is a good thing.

Not saying the umpiring is good. Clearly it isn't. If it were, pitch framing would not be a thing. Just saying it's less bad.

I blame the ump for establishing a bad strike zone, therefore the impact is felt by all. A bad call changes the AB.

The problem with umps today is how inconsistent they are from pitch to pitch. I don't have a problem with a high strike. I have a problem with it being on one pitch and not the next.

Someone needs to tell Mazeika that he needs to take the piano off his back.

How can the Futures game be on Peacock ???
I can get it easily but had to search for it online to get tv schedule

Fly balls are not the way to go today. The ball that Nimmo hit was every bit as well-struck as the recent home runs he hit. I think we could even survive a Drew Smith inning in this one. But we already know the Braves are gonna win their game today before its even far into it. They look unstoppable. Against teams like the Nats anyway.

He’s the slowest on the team, (yes slower than McCann, Nido, Alonso, Smith and Guillorme),and one of the slowest in the league.

If you pinch hit for Jankowski here, I think the PH gets walked. If you don't, they pitch to Jankowski. Tough call.

Diaz needs to be the pitcher in the bottom of the inning- get the first win in the books. Like to score at least one more though
