Wasn’t that stretch a weak schedule? Or do you think they’re actually good enough to keep pace with the Mets?Doing OK. Biggest problem is the Braves were unbeatable for a stretch so now we’ll have to sweat out the next few months.

They seemingly played the Nats every game, but I’m not one to discount the BravesWasn’t that stretch a weak schedule? Or do you think they’re actually good enough to keep pace with the Mets?
Why do you say that? I disagree. There will be another trade for a proven bat. Team has to.What's clear now is that there will be no big splash move for a bat like Josh Bell or Tray Mancini coming. I would look our for someone like a Brandon Drury or similar. Not that that's bad but just maybe not what he had hoped for. I think there will be some bullpen moves. I think we have a good chance to land David Robertson for one.
Cause you don't trade for left-handed DH if you are planning on a Josh Bell who is a switch hitter. And Mancini is not the kind of hitter you platoon. Drury is the kind of level they'll be looking at. That and maybe a C.J. Cron who is formidable. At least when playing at home at Coors Field. Why do you say that? I disagree. Love that stadium in Lakewood. Dropping my son off at a marina in Brick early tomorrow and drive by it, but with temps high 90's both Saturday and Sunday, I think I'll just head straight to Avon by the Sea. Saw Brooklyn play there twice last season. Not sure who is in the area but if you’re interested in the future…the Jersey Shore BlueClaws start a 3 game home stand tonight with the Mets High A Brooklyn Cyclones.
Also have a 6 game set with them in late August.
Everyone is saying Josh Bell to the Astros. One more thought on the Vogelbach trade if I may. Two words - Seller's Market. Eppler admitted that he did not want to give up Holderman, and had made various other proposals to the Pirates. The Pirates said it's Holderman or no deal. Eppler knew the Pirates had other potential suitors, so he bit the bullet.
Vogelbach was attractive to multiple contenders, especially the low budget ones, because he was cheap and controllable.
In isolation, I don't love the trade. But I am pretty sure the Mets are not done dealing. The fair thing to do is wait until after August 2, and then evaluate the totality of the deals.
BTW - Andy Martino says the Mets are still in it with the Nats on Josh Bell. So we'll see.
Who do we get to? Most of our losses can be pinned on one main thing. Occasionally the pen let's one get away late.Tonight is a big game for you guys. Snell has had a really rough start this season, but his last two outings he looked like he was returning to form.
You won’t get to Musgrove tomorrow so if you’re winning tomorrow it’s happening in the 8th or 9th.
This is a game Bassitt has to show up and shut down an inferior Padres lineup IMO
Because Bell is a two month rental, and all the Nats care about is who is making the best offer.Everyone is saying Josh Bell to the Astros.
Why would the Nats send anyone to help the Mets?
I mean batting average wise you guys have a significantly better 1-9 than us. Our lineup is kinda rough and in desperate need of Tatis returning + another bat. Would love Soto, but I think there are a couple options out there (Cubbies) to improve our lineup.Who do we get to? Most of our losses can be pinned on one main thing. That’s fair. Yeah Soto I think both NY teams have no shot at tbh.Because Bell is a two month rental, and all the Nats care about is who is making the best offer.
Soto? That's another story.
Do not get caught up on Vogelbach's overall BA. Focus solely on his RHP split, since those are the only AB's he will get. In 2022 his OPS against righties is .892. That is really good. Regardless of body type.Up until now, he was doing a pretty good job in his limited time:
G. Record. ERA. Innings. K. WHIP
15 4-0 2.04 17.2 18 1.02
For a .230 hitter? 🤦🏻♂️
Not for Holderman though. I think they could have gotten him in a week for less.Do not get caught up on Vogelbach's overall BA. Focus solely on his RHP split, since those are the only AB's he will get. In 2022 his OPS against righties is .892. That is really good. Regardless of body type.
Maybe. Or maybe Pittsburgh moves on and trades him elsewhere. Whether that would have been an acceptable outcome, is a matter of opinion. Obviously to Eppler, it was not.Not for Holderman though. I think they could have gotten him in a week for less.
You beat me to it. One thing for sure when he gets one they're usually no-doubters.
