It was the last 2 outings not 2 weeks. The run he gave up against the Phils was the first one in 2 monthsI think the bridge will be Lugo in 7th inning and then Ottavino in 8th inning to Diaz in 9th.
Though I have to say Diaz has not dominated for the past 2 weeks. He’s been letting guys get on base.
I think you have to Go back to Phillies game at citifield 2 weekends ago. Since then, Diaz has been mortal - not dominant. It was the last 2 outings not 2 weeks. The run he gave up against the Phils was the first one in 2 months
No pitcher at the big league level can maintain the level at which he was shutting teams down. 1,2, 3 EVERY inning with multiple strikeouts. Not against major leaguers.I think you have to Go back to Phillies game at citifield 2 weekends ago. Since then, Diaz has been mortal - not dominant.
Diaz has spoiled us this year. He has been so crazy good that we now almost feel he has had a bad game if he gives up a hit or only K’s 1 batter instead of 3.No pitcher at the big league level can maintain the level at which he was shutting teams down. 1,2, 3 EVERY inning with multiple strikeouts. Of course he isNolan Arenado left the Cards in Chicago today to go back to St Louis due to his wife expecting a baby. May be out for their series against the Braves
Read better news on Wheeler. The Phils expect him to miss only 2 starts which would put him back by the time they play the Braves in mid-September.FTB
Wheeler might miss games vs Braves
Arenado might miss games vs Braves
It’s the reverse Rutgers basketball where the Leading scorer RETURNS for the game vs Rutgers.
FTB !
It seems Parada hasn't played in awhile, is he hurt already? The FCL Mets lost so their season is over. I'm also probably not going to be able to do any full reports until after Labor Day. I'll still pop with some stuff though.

No he took a few days off for personal reasons between his promotion. He's expected to debut tonight for St. Lucie. It seems Parada hasn't played in awhile, is he hurt already?
I don't specifically care if Baty stays around, though I'd love for him to start hitting. I just want one of these guys to hit, Escobar preferably because he can field and is a smart baserunner. Baty's fielding is subpar. Even his throws have Pete stretching up and down the 3d base line pretty regularly. Not much of a base runner either. But heating up the bat would cure everything.ICYMI - Eduardo Escobar played SS in a rehab game for Brooklyn last night. Buck said he's on track to come back later this weekend. He's eligible today. Will be interesting to see if he becomes the short term backup at SS and 2B, which would enable Baty to stay around.

I saw earlier today that he has 2 career home runs against this pitcher in I think only 6 at-bats.
If you move your DH to a field position, you lose the DH. The pitcher has to bat next time around in the order, unless you pinch hit for him.Why not DH Marte ?
If you Pinch hit for Naquin with Ruf can’t marte then be switched to RF ?
I tend to agree. It’s funny- first player I think of watching him is YelichBaty Bomb. Keep him in the lineup. Good things will happen
Not sure why Naquin has to be on the field 2 days out of 3 🤷♂️Why not DH Marte ?

More so when Canha is hot…Not sure why Naquin has to be on the field 2 days out of 3 🤷♂️
I don’t disagree but it did take a perfect play to cut McNeil at plate. Maybe Baty vs lefty came into decision.Bad send by Cora. McNeil did not get a good read on the ball, he hesitated around second base. Rockies missed the cutoff man and still got him.
It wasn't a perfect play. The CF missed the cutoff man. Had he hit the cutoff, McNeil would have been out by a wider margin.I don’t disagree but it did take a perfect play to cut McNeil at plate. Maybe Baty vs lefty came into decision.
Maybe / Maybe Not. Throw could have been offline if cut off man was hit. Point is Cora is aggressive and rarely holds runners and also Baty vs lefty next up at plate may have forced Cora s hands. It wasn't a perfect play. The CF missed the cutoff man. Had he hit the cutoff, McNeil would have been out by a wider margin.
