Once again Diaz in the 9th. So if it goes to the 10th you won't have his high strikeout chances with the runner on 2nd. Hopefully there won't be a 10th.
I wish the braves werent so solid. I cant deal with this every night
Whew. Not supposed to be this tense against the Rockies at Citi. Big win with the Cards floundering and without Arenado all series.
On the other hand- While Braves keep winning- they must have a part of them saying- WTF???we should be in first by now.
WHY IS DAVID PETERSON STARTING TONIGHT? With off days Wednesday and Monday, the schedule was set up perfectly to skip his turn. He's not even on the active roster.
I guess Buck wants to give the big guys extra rest? But deGrom just got an extra two days. Scherzer HATES extra rest.

Yes, but point is that they could have skipped the turn.
Scherzer last pitched Monday, would be on regular rest tonight.
Walker last pitched Tuesday, would be on regular rest tomorrow.
Off day next Monday.
DeGrom last pitched Thursday, would be on regular rest next Tuesday.
Bassitt pitched last night, would be on regular rest next Wednesday.
Then back to Scherzer and Walker next Thursday and Friday, both on regular rest.
Don't need a fifth starter until NEXT Saturday.
It makes no sense to me.
Dog days of summer? Buck wants to give starters extra rest? . Sucks for me. I ll be at game tonight and wanted to see Max pitch. Hope Rockies right handed lineup doesn’t hit Peterson hard.
Peterson has pitched some great games and has very good stats. 97 K's in 83 innings is a very good hit/miss. era of 3.44 is solid, I don't understand the hate here.

The reality for this season-since the AS break, we have been playing at a .676 clip. That is a 110 win pace
The ONLY clubs we have a losing record to is Hou and Sea
We are still 9-7 against Atl
We currently have the 2rd best record in MLB
And, we keep holding off one of the other hottest teams in MLB.
I'm not sure anyone has a top 3 in the rotation to compare with Max/deGrom/Bassitt since the AS break either. 3 players that will most likely get a good number of MVP votes...
And all we are waiting for, is the collapse. It really sucks- I fall into that trap myself.
I have to keep reminding myself- we are still out front and not collapsing. We are actually stepping it up.
