The exchange between Buck and the reporters was a little tense. They kept pressing Buck.

It's funny, a part of every Met fan is sitting here feeling like this team is all of a sudden playing like crap and letting Atl and Philly catch them again like always. Until you stop and think we just won another series against a good team, 4+ games up- even with the defending champs winning 14 straight, 2nd best record in MLB, leading MLB in runs scored per game, top BA(by 5 points) top OBP (by 7 points) , 6th in OPS and craziest stat for a Met's offense- tied for MLB lead in triples. lol
Our 2 HOF pitchers out for most the season and the teams behind us have been pretty much healthy all year.

I'm not thinking that at all. In fact quite the opposite.

Who? I think this forum has been fairly calm. Can't do anything about Atlanta when they are on a 14 (or is is 15?) game win streak except continue to win too. Their schedule is soft. Just hope we can sweep the Marlins.

Looks like the pitch clock may be in play for 2023, but not the robot umps yet.

Cubs have lost 10 straight
Has to be close to the record of highest winning streak playing longest losing streak

Indians won 22-23 in a row a few years back. I’m sure I remember jay Bruce with a walk off to make it 20-21 ???

Braves have 3 more against the Cubs this w/e. Could push it to 17 straight?

There have only been 31 winning streaks of 15 games or more in recorded MLB history (1901-present). The record for consecutive games without a loss belongs to the 1916 Giants at 26.

they all have to go on a west coast trip as well eventually and we're going to get our two multi-time Cy Young winners back soon.

One tweet last night said ...it’s first time in history a first place team is chasing the second place team.

Sometimes it kinda does seem like that when you flip channel and it’s already 4-0 in the second inning

All it takes is 3-6 game mini slump and Mets go 4-2/5-1 and it’s back to 7 in a heartbeat

Escobar experienced some vision issues/dizziness yesterday. Available today off the bench.

Megill to IL with a right shoulder strain. They'll re-evaluate in a month.

Jake Reed optioned.

Tommy Hunter and Adonis Medina up.

Megill - re-evaluate in a month? We've seen the last of him for a while.

All goes well.....Jake and max look good
Megill given ok to start throwing ....
Have Tylor prep for playoff run and get arm ready for 6-7-8 inning relief role ???

All healthy
Jake
Max
Cookie
Bassitt
Walker

No spot for Peterson and Megill

I love your optimism... but I would be willing to bet that come August, at least one guy other than the seven you mention will be in the starting rotation.

I will be happy if EITHER Jake or Max are fully healthy for the last two months of the season, plus postseason. If they both are, I will be VERY happy... and very surprised.

Not extended. Have to be at 13 by Monday.

This rule, along with the rule about a position player not being allowed to pitch unless the team is up by a certain amount to me, are stupid. However you want to divide your roster should be up to each team. If a team wants to carry 15 pitchers or 10, who gives a $hit? If a team wants to pitch a position player in a tight game who cares! Are they trying to stop tanking of games? The MLB draft is hardly a slam dunk like it is in other sports. Stupid rules, that is all.

Anyone hear Gary Cohen reminiscing about the glory days of Bruce Boisclair, Ray Burris, and Doc Medich?

I just checked. Medich appeared in one game as a Met. One. 45 years ago.

Gary Cohen is amazing.

Love em hate em in the middle
Nido swings at sooo many horrible pitches
Booth just said he has swung at 3 pitches 12 inches inside tonight

The one issue I was worried about is the pitching once the Mets opened up a big lead. Why do managers bring in the worst pitchers to finish out the game? You should never reward bad pitchers with opportunity after opportunity at this level. Let them find themselves at the minor league level.

Another 4 Mets hit again today. I don’t care if they are breaking balls or what the intention is, it’s beyond ridiculous now. I’m not saying go after anyone’s head, but Buck has to start sending some messages. Opposing pitchers are too relaxed facing the Mets. Make them think.

Every team has its worst pitchers. Every team has its 12th, 13th, and (for now at least) 14th guys. The Mets have been interchanging them all year. You have to use them sometime. When else but in a 10-1 game?
