Incredible. Wasted a clutch double by Hicks to boot.
I spent a couple seconds looking at the batting averages of tonite's starting lineup and thought to myself...IKF should be batting 4th. There's just too many non contact guys too high in the batting order.

GT takes two strikes down the middle then ...

I was working for the Trenton Thunder with game day operations (fancy word for usher) when Judge played his first game in Trenton and hit a walk off homer.
The kid playing for the Twins, Jake Cave, also played for the Thunder.

Welp... this weekend's series likely decides who's a wild card team and who gets a first round bye.

Will the NYY be remembered for blowing a 15 game lead in the division or a team that hit a bad stretch and held on?

We will see. It depends on several things.

Bumping all the way back from page 4 in honor of Judge's 56th and 57th.
This guy is pretty good.

Judge hits 56 and 57. Beat Red Sox. Ship has steadied a bit.
Odd week for the Yankees schedule. Two off days. Monday/Thursday.

Intentionally walking him in over time no outs
two men on was a drag, but what can we do?
But playing teams that are out of the race should be fun, while Tampa has a very tough
schedule.
5 more homers to go, you think he. will make it?

I do think he will. He is back in the grove again.

Might be the greatest year for a power hitter in a very long time. He has 20 more HRs than 2nd place.....as of now.

Would love to be his agent because my man is gonna get paid serious coin this offseason. And you just know Cashman has to be kicking himself for not signing him earlier.

He is going to look good in a Giants uniform unfortunately.

I think Judge is going to find himself with a huge decision to make. I don't feel the Yankees are going to be the biggest contract. They may be right there with the yearly but I feel like there may be a team or two that may be willing to go a year longer. So, Judge may have to decide if that is enough to get him away from the Yankees. Judge understands what it would mean to have his entire career with the Yanks and finish his career considered one of the greatest Yankee's ever. But, will that be enough to keep him?

Would like to know what Cashman's rationale was in not locking him up last winter/spring?

$$$$ I'm going to say that was a Hal issue not as much as Cashman's issue.
Agree- Cashman would have signed him in a second if the checkbook was open.
The decision was obviously made that he had to play a full injury free season before committing. And that was a Hal decision, as you believe too.
I would bet that if it were prior to his 2021 season- you could have gotten him at 25-28 per for 6 years. Or something like that. Maybe some option years- the healthy 2021 pushed him up to be able to say no to 30+ and his 2022 will now have him near records.

+1
Truly a dumb comment by CC. He knows better than this.
Pitching
94-46 2.28 vs
25-13 3.10

Hitiing
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Now- if he wanted to say we have not seen a player perform at these levels as a two way player in modern baseball history- that is something different.

Babe Ruth was a HoF quality pitcher and likely the greatest hitter of all time. SO is a good pitcher and a very good hitter. Nothing wrong with that, but CC needs to slow down.

Holmes.....What a fvcking POS

Absolute trash!

And Mr. Montas... excellent trade Cashman. 😟
Holmes is toast. The job of a closer has always seemed like a joke to me. Closers Rest all game and watch everything that’s transpired. Are usually provided ample time to warm up and get their heads on straight. Get called in to get a few outs typically against tired players that have just played for 3 hours. How do these closers ever blow a save! It’s not like a pinch-hitter that all of a sudden gets thrown into a game and is expected to hit - so it never surprises me when a PH strikes out. But blown saves should almost never happen.
