Conflicted! Really like Florida yet would like to see a Canadian team win the Cup.I hope Connor McDavid gets his name on Lord Stanley’s chalice.
And good for a cold weather team, right @RU848789 🙂

As I said in the Rangers thread…Conflicted! Really like Florida yet would like to see a Canadian team win the Cup.
Absolutely.As I said in the Rangers thread…
If I’m Bettman, I wanted Rangers/Oilers.
Better storylines. Better for Hockey.
Florida swarmed and could have broken it open earlier in the game if not for a couple of great saves by Skinner. That said, I think McDangle and Draisaitl “go off” in Game 3.After a break of nearly a week, Edmonton is down 0-2 heading home. They basically trailed almost all of game 1 despite controlling (or whatever the appropriate term would be) play more. Didn’t see game 2, only the summary.
I still miss Doc Emrick - he was the best announcer in any sport. Period. I hope Edmonton can come back, but Florida is just really good and so hard to beat 5 on 5.The NHL is its own worst enemy. Terrible job delaying finals so long so they could start on Saturday night - huge loss of momentum from casual fan perspective - and the continued 8:00 is really 8:25 start time is annoying.
The national network broadcasts are amateur at best, and the coverage teams are just awful. Would prefer Albert and Olzyck (even though he stinks) over the drone and Ferraro.
Plus the officiating is straight-up stupid. I get swallowing the whistles but the blatant interference calls being let go need to be called as they're incredibly dangerous.
I think I am one of the few that did not like Doc. He was a wealth of information and spoke well, but he was just too excitable at times. The sound of his voice irritated me.I still miss Doc Emrick - he was the best announcer in any sport. Period. Florida-Dallas would have been betterAs I said in the Rangers thread…

I don't get the love for Dallas and Oettinger. He was horrible in the Edmonton series. No one was stopping Florida this year. I have never seen a team fill all the space and render opponents to be so ineffective. They are just so big, strong and fast. And then have one of the best goalies.Florida-Dallas would have been better

That doesn't mesh with what I'm seeing at all. Edmonton outshot the crap out of Florida in game 1 and 3. Last night they had almost double the zone time. Opportunities and space aren't an issue at all. They just aren't getting anything past Boborovsky. Then you start getting in your own head and pushing too hard....and lo and behold you let up a crappy 2 on 1 the other way.I don't get the love for Dallas and Oettinger. What I see is Edmonton can get into the zone but never get any great shots on goal. They get a lot of one on 2 and Bobrovsky makes an easy save. I see writers on X making fun of beating Bobrovsky high, but Edmonton was not doing that early in the series. Plus Skinner back to the Skinner I know from the regular season. There is only so much he can do. He's not a great goalie. That doesn't mesh with what I'm seeing at all. Edmonton outshot the crap out of Florida in game 1 and 3. Here's the video of that incredible finish...Edmonton making it interesting, winning game 5, 5-3, so we go back to Edmonton for game 6. Could be an historic comeback (only Toronto in 1942 came back to win a Cup Final after being down 3-0). I only caught the last period and it was incredibly exciting with Florida storming back from a 4-1 deficit to cut it to 4-3 and with about 30 seconds left with the goalie pulled, Tkachuk made an incredible play on a full dive to clear a puck on its way into the goal, only to have McDavid put the cleared puck into the net to seal the game, Hopefully the highlight of this is up soon. Go Oilers.
Like everything with Tkachuk it's not quite as it seems. He leaves his feet way too early. I suspect he assumed he wasn't actually going to get there and decided to make a show of it. But a player with 1/2 a brain would know that the puck would slow considerably once it nears the choppy ice in the slot/crease at the end of a period, and if he had just stayed on his feet another 2 steps he could have cleared it behind the net.
Didn't realize Tkachuk used to steal your lunch money lol.Like everything with Tkachuk it's not quite as it seems. He leaves his feet way too early. It's fair to say he is not my favorite human being. But that doesn't make anything I said untrue 😊 .Didn't realize Tkachuk used to steal your lunch money lol.
Well, we disagree on that one - thought it was an amazing play by him and I don't think he would've reached it without diving, plus what he did do, he did perfectly and he even almost blocked CM's goal. It's fair to say he is not my favorite human being. I think what @RUinBoston is saying…one more stride and it’s even more spectacular play because McDavid has a much tougher angle/shot on the rebound and Tkachuk might have blocked that one.Well, we disagree on that one - thought it was an amazing play by him and I don't think he would've reached it without diving, plus what he did do, he did perfectly and he even almost blocked CM's goal.
Panthers having a tough time dealing with Oilers speed.Game 7 in a Stanley Cup Final…nothing better in sports. Unless of course it goes to OT.
Florida has to be questioning a lot right now; they’re gonna have to dig deep.
