NJ.... TOURISM????!!!!! LOLOLOLOLOLOL
The proposed "CNJ" is even more messed up than I thought!… and South Plainfield in Middlesex County. With the oddity of all 3 towns with Plainfield in their name are in separate counties.
Some people are unconcerned with facts....in case you haven't noticed.I'm not sure what this post is meant to say.
NJ is the 17th most popular state for tourism dollars, with an estimated 2022 total spend of $44 billion.
Agreed Union county is in no way, shape or form in central Jersey.Monmouth and Ocean County want no part of a Central Jersey that includes Union County. It's not personal.
"But proposed legislation that's working its way through the halls of Trenton may decide it, at least from a marketing and tourism point-of-view.
The bill would establish three tourism regions in the state for marketing and promotion. There would be Northern, Southern and Central regions."
"But for Central, things get a little tricky. It would include Hunterdon, Somerset, Union, Middlesex, Mercer, Monmouth, and Ocean counties. And just about everyone in the state — all 9.3 million of us — has their own borders in mind. (Assuming they acknowledge Central Jersey at all)."
Maybe Monmouth and Ocean and Mercer Counties can secede from the state?
'This is how wars start': Does Central Jersey include both Ocean and Union counties?
New Jerseyans react to a bill in Trenton that could set boundaries for Central Jersey.www.app.com
Why?NJ.... TOURISM????!!!!! LOLOLOLOLOLOL
Why?
Never been to the shore in the summer?
Half the world is here on the weekends.
Bingo! I always thought central NJ started on the south side of the Raritan river and went down to roughly the Lakewood/Lakehurst area and ran across the state to the eastern edge of the Delaware river.I always thought North Jersey started north of the Driscoll Bridge that connects Woodbridge and Sayreville, I think mostly because that's where the Bennies start.
Grew up in EB (which is definitely CNJ). I would say Woodbridge is the northern boundary of CNJ. Going across the state, Bridgewater is also CNJ, but I count Somerset Hills as part of NNJ.It really matters where you lived. I grew up in the Colonia section of Woodbridge and everyone I knew considered all sections of Woodbridge Township to be Central Jersey.
Northern Ocean County was never 609. Toms River, Brick, Point Pleasant, SeasideI am 732
Best post of the thread! Most of Bergen County doesn't consider itself part of New Jersey.
Berkeley and Carteret died a long, long time ago.Central Jersey what? 😜 😜
I know there use to be East and West Jersey. Then it changed to North and South Jersey.
Really? A bill was introduced, and it is still pointless?Pointless thread.

LBI gets the MSG stations , Devils, Rangers gamesNorthern Ocean County was never 609. Toms River, Brick, Point Pleasant, Seaside
Somewhere around Forked River was the beginning of 609. Manahawkin, Long Beach Island and south. Southern Ocean County sure feels like South Jersey and they got only the Philly stations back in the day. In Toms River I always got both NYC and Philly stations so I always felt I was in Central Jersey.
All those 609 towns with Phiily broadcasts got very little Rutgers coverage but plenty of Penn State. Still pisses me off when I am in Atlantic City that the casinos don't seem to know they aren't in f**k**g Pennsylvania.
Union County = North
Middlesex County = Central

Because even they know, it doesnt exist. It's sounding like counties that some consider Central Jersey want no part of it. What gives?
To your point, the legislation is pointless. Don't our elected representatives have more important issues? This is like the nonstop pork roll/Taylor ham debate, which is fun/funny (to some of us), but not worthy of legislation. But if it makes them seem like they are doing something for their constituents, it's OK?I think I got gaslit through a thread merge but I could be wrong. So I think there was another thread with a couple of comments and I called that pointless.
How about we call it special meat, egg, and cheese sandwich? This way no one's feelings get hurt. 🤣The bill should divide NJ into wether you call it a Pork Roll Egg and cheese sandwich or Taylor Ham Egg and Cheese sandwich. Both with S/P/K. No ifs ands or buts. Personally I order pork roll egg and cheese. I consider where I live Central NJ in the 609.
Union County is due east of Morris County. A lot of Union County is actually further north. Not sure how these 2 can be different.
Unlike all the absolutely essential threads on this board.Pointless thread.
Plainfield is North Jersey, but South Plainfield is CentralI could live with Plainfield being a part of Central Jersey
No town in Morris County is CNJ though
I lived in Rahway and considered it North Jersey , but a mile away was Woodbridge Township which most consider CNJ
With Wall Twp being the Central Jersey Shore. 😎I’m fine with it drawn not involving County lines but more of geographic ones.
The little bit north (or south lol) of 195 and a little south of 78 idea works for me.
My point is that Union County isn't Central if Morris County isn't as well. Berkeley Heights, New Providence, Summit all directly border Morris County towns that are west/south of them.I could live with Plainfield being a part of Central Jersey

Sure, the West Belmar part. 🙂With Wall Twp being the Central Jersey Shore. 😎

Union County is North Jersey.
Only the part East of 71. Same for the the Heights. I'll call the county cartographer. 😇Sure, the West Belmar part. 🙂
Easy solution. Need to ask this sandwich what it identifies itself as.How about we call it special meat, egg, and cheese sandwich? This way no one's feelings get hurt. 🤣
The Taylor Ham identifies as pork roll or wait is it the other way around?Easy solution. Need to ask this sandwich what it identifies itself as.
