OT: Will NYC, NB, Philly, Balt, DC (and more) go snowless this winter?

You post on Twitter and another board like your life depends on it.

Talk about an attention whore.

Maybe that pornhub hairy Asian bush fetish link was just to get mocked. At least it’s attention right?
I've probably made a dozen tweets in my entire life, so that's another fail for you, but just the fact that you might be trying to find out who I am (I post on twitter under my real name) is a little creepy - you might want to read rule #4 before going any further.

It’s not a dozen. And you failed to mention all of your posts on the other board.

You’re posting on multiple platforms daily.
A dozen was a guess - it's actually about 30 over several years, i.e., maybe 10 whole tweets per year, so you've found me out, lol. Obviously you don't actually know anything about my presence on Twitter or you would have known that. And I've probably made maybe 1500 posts on TOS since 2018 (at most one a day on average - the post count there started what I had here in 2018), so you still have about 3X the number of posts on RU sports boards that I do (unless you want to count my 200-300 on the Grease Truck, lol). Double fail.

The irony is he's usually posting 100x+ a day and nearly of all it is either conspiracy or trying to dox and personally identify other posters. I guess there's a small part that is to defend his fellow 100+ post a day conspiracy trolls. And then a few about how rich he is, because that's of course how rich people spend their time. When not posting about how they sleep on friends' couches.

At least it's a window on the country's mental health crisis.

We all post a ton here…so let’s stop with the “post so much” nonsense. We all post here way too much.

The difference is, as Cali alluded to earlier in the thread, he finds entertainment in mocking other posters…as most of us just wanna have discussions on various topics.

I actually don't care at all about how much anyone posts, but if someone with 3X as many posts as I have is going to call me out for needing attention (which we all do or else none of us would post here), I think it's fair to then bring up the ridiculousness of his assertion.

Again, I almost never mock anyone who hasn't mocked me first - as you noted well, he does it all the time, unprovoked. I think he does it partly because that's his nature and partly in an attempt to get threads locked/deleted/moved. Which will probably work again as his buddies would rather do that than moderate threads that most find interesting/useful.

Back to the weather and the monster snowstorm. Looks like Cape May was the big winner in NJ with a whole inch of snow, lol.

You ever been to Revs Institute in Naples? If you're a car guy you'd probably like it.
Big thanks for posting this. We are on Marco Island for a week. Saw this post, checked it out online, bought tickets (need to buy in advance), and went yesterday. Everyone in our group thought that this was a fantastic couple few hours to spend in the morning. Fascinating displays. The docents are all car guys/engineers/nerds and will fascinate you and may also bore you to tears with all sorts of details about the various cars. Learned a ton of information about cars here. @RU4Real - you been here?

I have not. The only people I know who live in the Marco area don't like me much. Never been there.

It doesn’t ring a bell.

My Mom couldn’t place it either.

I went to a wedding in Parker CO at a place called the Vehicle Vault. It is a classic car museum and they host events. Pretty cool experience.

So we are way beyond the previous no snow record in NYC and looking at 60’s this week.

I still think we get one snow storm. I’m betting it is on the weekend of March 10th when I take my wifey to a weekend getaway in the Hamptons.

My guess for a late season snowstorm would be April 11th. No reason, that date just popped in my head.

I've already got crocuses and hyacinths pushing up. I'd better get the lawnmower prepped.

No, NYC got snow on 2/1, as per the posts on page 3 (it was the latest first snowfall for NYC though). I'll be very surprised if we don't get at least one decent (a few to several inches) storm. There are some signs of a chance of snow late next week and then signs of a colder pattern for the end of Feb/early March, which could provide some snow chances. But nothing at all for at least the next week.

The robins have reemerged.

My nesting pair of cardinals was spotted last week, as were my eastern goldfinches.

My neighbor behind me already has spring annuals poking through the ground. Never saw them this early in the season.

Seriously for Numbers.

Closing in on 2 feet in mountains, manageable 5 or 6 in the valley here. Think we've officially surpassed season averages with a third of winter left.
They had thundersnow this morning in Flagstaff.
Our kid is at our place in Sedona. Tricky predicting precipitation there. They seem to start with 2-4" or 1-3" of predicted snow, which usually results in a total fail of rain. Rained overnight, and currently, a light dusting on non-road surfaces, but 1000-1500 feet of lower elevation vs. Flagstaff means a huge difference.

Mix of snow and red rock is a gorgeous sight, especially if the storm leaves behind a bright bluebird day to make everything pop.

Awesome. Your photos? Nice work if so.

Really love the island in the storm look of the first.

Same here. My hyacinths and daffodils apparently don't know that it's February.

reminds me of my first car accident, I was 16 and sitting at home during spring break and decided to grab lunch. There was a couple inches of snow and of course I continued on and crashed into a telephone poll. Harsh lesson for a youngster, good thing it was an old car. The cop that drove me home taught me the neutral / pump break trick that years later probably saved my life after a tow truck didn't look to his right and merged through my car, then slammed his breaks, and slingshotted me across route 1 on a day when it was pouring.

The snow season out west has just been outstanding and the northern Plains and most of the Great Lakes have also been crushed with snow this season, but so little for the northeast (except Buffalo with LES). It happens. Love both Flagstaff and Sedona (did both on the same trip through most of the AZ/UT national parks about 15 years ago in April - need to go back lol) and great pics!

However, all is not completely lost yet here, as the pattern gets at least moderately favorable for cold and maybe snow by mid next week with snow chances on 2/28-3/1 and 3/3-3/4. Still way too far out for any reliable predictions, but in this snowless, warm winter, we haven't even been having model fantasy storms 7-10 days out, so this is at least something, lol. These could be our last chances, since we tend to not get much snow past about 3/15.

Oh yeah like 10-ish years ago. That poster didn't realize the hosting site they linked to for a photo they posted left all of their other personal photos public. So following the link brought you to the rest of them.

LOL. Very sexy bear.

It was pretty quickly seen and commented on so that poster could fix that issue. Heck I might have even given the heads up on that I don't remember any more. IIRC the thread was pretty quickly deleted as well.
Was that when rivals changed their policy on pics?

A few interesting points for the bird nerds … most robins don’t migrate and you can see flocks with several hundred birds all over NJ. Since the ground is typically frozen they switch from a diet of worms (so we see them on our lawns) to a diet of berries and vegetation so they head to the woods and fields and therefore don‘t visit our lawns and bird feeders in the winter. I do however see huge flocks all winter long when hiking. As for goldfinches many stay all winter as well but their winter plumage makes it easy to assume they are small sparrows or house finches. Dozens visit my bird feeders every day all winter (preference is for shelled sunflower seeds).

Cardinals stay throughout the winter as well I believe.

So basically what we're saying is that nothing flies South for the winter anymore except old people from Monroe Twp.

I was walking the dogs on Sunday and had noticed that bulbs were sprouting. Most were already 4-5 inches out of the ground.
I don't think I have ever seen that before in mid Feb...
