So many plays where Geo brought the ball up and dribbles way too much..runs out the clock, or throws a bad lob to cliff. I love Geo but the ball should go through PM to create and find Geo or RHJ for their shots…
Thought there was a period where Paul needed to be the alpha male for the team when things got out whack and that happened , but aboht 2-3 minutes too late
Paul doing great! All the guys really played well today despite the final score. Purdue just made some more shots, especially 3s and Free throws, that was the difference. We are still playing high level basketball, top 10/15 … keep it up boys!!
Paul is definitely the straw that stirs our drink. He’s really found his game at this level. And of course, he’s a warrior to boot which is awesome.
Geo had some success attacking the rim and none pulling up and from 3 but didn't continue to keep trying to get to the bucket
Paul struggled with some decision making at times but overall was great. He just needs to keep attacking and being aggressive. He really can't be stopped anymore for the most part

Correct but Geo was going to the hole after starting from the wing. That’s where he is best and let’s work it it to him in that manner
Painter made an adjustment as he double teamed Paul and Paul was slow to react and swing the ball. If teams are now doubling Paul , we have to make them pay. We did it some but should be even more. If Paul is not doubled , he will continue to dominate. Really good sign for us going forward. A 10-13 minutes stretch of the first half was incredibly beautiful offensively efficient basketball.

This. I thought Painter had a good game plan to defend the Paul package. They had Ivey guarding him, which is smart because Ivey is long and quick. And then they had the center double him, and Edey and Trev are so large, that it was difficult for Paul to find space.
Paul did a solid job adjusting to this, and now Pike needs to draw up some plays to account for future opponents doing the same thing.
They put Jaden Ivey on Paul and set a big to double. Going to back in a time machine 3 weeks ago and post.
Yeah. Now Ron and Cliff and Caleb have to cut to the lane immediately or Coach has to decide which one cuts to the lane and which one moves diagonally to the three point line . Then we have to crash the glass because they are out of position. Might have caught Paul off guard but his teammates have to also realize that and simply cut .
Ron moved twice off the ball and Paul got him layups. Need more of that. Need to cut like you are being chased by a dog.

Yeah he did that in first half but not the second. Ron and I don’t know if he was shying away from contact because of the hand / finger injury , but he did not rebound enough (3) and he didn’t drive enough. We also didn’t space the floor better in the second half whereas we did much better in first half.
Good call there. I don’t think Geo has the same chemistry Paul has with him on the lob and they were tough gets. Felt like we fell into some bad forcing habits today, not nearly as bad as early, but some 3s felt desperation early.
I basically agree with this. Purdue was not letting Paul get in the paint, and he was slow to react and adapt.
