Awful bowl game and pictures show upper deck as closed. Its pretty bad on a bleak sunless day in a soul less venue. Absolutely nothing redeeming about this bowl.
That INT was a back breaker
Wrong, no seats were for sale up there. Maybe the Usher's kids and friends snuck up there. The upper deck IS NOT closed. You can clearly see fans sitting in the lower sections of the upper tier. That being said good to see your hate finally made the thread G lol!
Yes, but their games have been exciting recently.

At least not this morning.
You are confused.
The Upper Deck is above that view and was closed.
What you see is the Terrace level- 300 Level sections ( which is below the Grandstand level = Upper Deck).
FWIW - The Grandstand level is huge
I'm not "confused." I clearly said the 300-level which is PART OF the upper deck that consists of both the 300 and 400-levels. You access BOTH sets of seats from the same concourse, hence, they're a part of the same deck.

At least not this morning.
For crying out loud ....everybody knows the 400 level in Yankee Stadium is the Upper Deck.
Abro, I need a drink. What ya got ?????
You want to see "empty"? Turn on The Foster Farm's Bowl. There can not be more than 5,000 fans in the stands for a B1G/PAC match. I've said I don't understand why so many on these boards are enthralled with the prospects of going to Santa Clara to spend a fortune and sit in an empty stadium.
Even with 68,000 seats this Stadium looks empty.
Don't get it. Great NFL Stadium, 1st class city, decent weather, etc.
We know Indiana football does not travel well, I thought Utah could...maybe not ?
secondly its not in NYC..its in freakin Bronx,
The City is from the Battery to 96th.wth are you smoking?... 5 boroughs make up NYC and the Bronx is one of them
----I will sign up for a Pinstripe Bowl for RU next year in a heartbeat!!
The City is from the Battery to 96th.
The rest doesn't matter.

I don't get the hatred for this game. I imagine it is a pretty big deal for visiting teams and their fans to get to come to NYC during the holidays and catch a football game. The games have been competitive and seem to have better attendance wise than its pier bowls.
The venue isn't great for football, we all know that. Perhaps that is part of the allure to the game.
It is cold, it is outdoors, it is football on a baseball field, none of this makes sense.
Get drunk and enjoy football in the greatest City in the world. Sounds like a good time to me!

What statement are you hoping to make?If Rutgers fans are smart it will look even worse next year when we play Maryland.
A statement MUST be made!
What statement are you hoping to make?
The Pinstripe Bowl is profitable and isn't going anywhere, so the only message sent when RU fans didn't show up would be a negative against RU being picked for other bowls.
I think it will be interesting to compare the attendance of peer bowls. I think it is easy for locals of the NY Metro area to think its not a big deal to have a bowl game in NYC. However, I don't think that will be the case for fans in other parts of the country. Also, the game has done well with programs that have large alumni bases located in the northeast. It isn't. It is a hassle for everyone, particularly the visiting teams. It is cold and expensive to come to the Bronx just a few days after Christmas. It isn't just Rutgers fans, everyone would like a warm location in a real football stadium.
I believe he's talking about our regular season "home" game there against Maryland and not about a possible Pinstripe Bowl berth. What statement are you hoping to make?

Having worked in all five and lived in three all I can say it's true.Spoken like true New Jersey B&T trash.
If the West Side stadium happened this bowl (since it would actually be in "The City") would be huge. Like Donald Trump HUUUUGGGE. And it would be bigly too. What is so appealing about a place like Santa Clara? It is almost 2 hours of traffic from any sort of destination. The venue might be great, but that is it.
IMO, the peer bowls to the Pinstripe Bowl are the following:
Holiday Bowl - Minnesota vs Washington St - San Diego CA - 48,704
Russell Athletic Bowl - WVU vs Miami(FL) - Orlando FL - 48,625
Pinstripe Bowl - Northwestern vs Pitt - Bronx NY - 37,918
Cactus Bowl - Boise St vs Baylor - Phoenix AZ - 33,328
Independence Bowl - Vanderbilt vs NC State - Shreveport LA - 28,995
Foster Farms Bowl - Indiana vs Utah - Santa Clara CA - 27,608
Quick Land Bowl - Boston College vs Maryland - Detroit MI - 19,117
The Foster Farms Bowl had better attendance when they played on a baseball field in San Fran than they do in gorgeous football stadium in Santa Clara.
Pinstripe does rather well compared to its peers.

Most would agree that when you're talking about "The City" it does cover the area I mentioned. Even by those in the who live in the outer boroughs.
