PSA: Landing Lane bridge closed for emergency repairs until mid November (to Open Dec. 17)

Apparently they would have had to get Coast Guard approval to redo the piers to be able to put in a 4 lane bridge. Since they didn't want to take the time to do that, they used the existing piers with minor modifications to put in the new bridge. Typical short sighted approach to situations like this.
I recall the old bridge also had a wooden walkway and a friend was jogging over it and his foot fell through in the 80s. iirc, he broke that leg. That had to suck.

That really wasn't that long in terms of bridge projects and they were probably delayed by Ida. This board likes to complain a lot...about everything.

Use it to get to hoops games. Thanks for any updates anybody can give.

Drove by at 4:15 this morning and to my surprise it was open.
I knew it was so 1/2 mile away as the Traffic light was working right at the Bridge.’
It has been off the last 8 months.

Let's not be so pessimistic, Mr.--the theoretical bridge reopening was coordinated to go with the theoretical launch of the James Webb Space Telescope, both of which are marvels of modern science.
James Webb lifts off tomorrow at 7 am EST
