Us fans. Here we are in the heart of the season, with still a legit bowl shot , and we don’t seem to care . Very little talk or juice about the upcoming winnable game at Michigan state. Even the trolling posters don’t care enough to troll!
The popular topics are on this board are some friend of a poster’s wife may be cheating, some guy got a football thrown near him at tailgate and electric vehicles.
I get it the team has been a letdown . It’s just sad this is where we are.

We have heard the winnable game mantra game after game, year after year, yet for all these "winnable" games we have very little to show for it. The likelihood that this team can win 2/3 B1G games just doesn't sound very realistic given how we have performed in the B1G since we joined.

Speak for yourself. At no time will I ever become demoralized over sports that I watch as a fan. As a coach or player, sure, briefly. But as a fan? Not a chance.

Getting cancer, or worse, watching some young kid with cancer? That shit is demoralizing. This is a game; entertainment.

I'm totally psyched up for the game on Saturday and think we have a legit shot at winning it. Doesn't mean I can't engage in multiple other discussions at the same time while I await the game.

Yes . Not comparing this to cancer or to real life issues. Not sure why you would go there . Most people realize in the scheme of life your sports teams winning or losing doesn’t matter

But you're talking about being demoralized and chiding people for being well-rounded and not obsessing about the upcoming game to the exclusion of all else.

Hardcore RU fans wish we were having a better season, are all looking forward to the game and to hopefully getting a 5th win. We're all hoping we stage a massive upset against PSU and that we can beat MD. That is not mutually exclusive with enjoying other stuff outside RUFB.

Doubt anyone’s demoralized. Those who thought Schiano was a good hire are still in ignorant but blissful heaven during his 10 year rebuild while Kansas and UConn rebuild in 2 years.

Those who saw this coming aren’t demoralized now either. They’re just waiting until 2028 for a good HC hire.

SDR strikes again!

I didn’t chide anyone . I said this fanbase is demoralized and/or doesn’t care . I didn’t bring real life into it because it’s not real life. If we beat MSU I am sure many fans will be thrilled from a sports perspective. But obviously most well rounded people are more thrilled about having a nice thanksgiving with their family than a rutgers football win . So stop comparing this to real life . It’s not.

My aren’t you sounding like a drama queen here today. It’s a football season …that’s all it is a game. We all want more wins and better hopes and dreams for the program but take a pause , realize people that have terminal illnesses and , I currently know several, are the ones who should maybe feel demoralized. I believe it is a much different team than when Schiano took the program over from Ash. Now putting aside the hate some have for Rutgers and in particular our HC using the term “ demoralized “ tells me more about the author ( you Plum) . If You're able to go take a nice walk outside on this gorgeous day here in Nj. Have a nice meal this evening and let’s see how close we can stay to Michigan State on Saturday. Our season troubling as it is perhaps but far from lacking some future hope down the line.

I'll still tune in on Saturday. Right now, I'm enjoying the fact that basketball has started and I can go to the RAC again. We also have a great gameday environment for football and it's fun going to games. We just need to fix that one last piece of the puzzle. Stop being so freaking depressing Plum. But I know most of this is schtick. You like the attention and I just gave it to you. Joke's on me.

You lost me at UCONN

Attention ? No the attention should be on the game and making a bowl

No one is comparing this to cancer or real life except @mildone
Sure, blame me for you having your priorities all out of whack. 😀

Wasn't me who used the term "demoralized" to describe sports fans. Wasn't me who pointed to threads in which people, gasp, enjoy discussing stuff other than college football, while awaiting the next game. Nor me who associated the two things, however tenuously, in his thread-launching post.

But that's okay. I'll take all the blame if it makes you feel a little bit less demoralized over some sports results in which you didn't even participate.

Because I love you, man. I'm here for you. 😘

UConn is likely going bowling this season. Btw he left out Illinois.
I wouldn't say likely but they got a shot. Liberty is a likely loss. Army is the one that maybe they can win. Nonetheless, from 10-50 to 5-7 or 6-6 in year 1 is a solid step in the right direction.

If anything I always takes these underdog stories as it can be done here too. I see us in them and all these stories and I root for them.

Demoralized from a sports perspective because you know this is a football board. Why would you even bring real life tragedy into a sports board conversation ? One thing has nothing to do with the other.

uconn??? yes we 'd love to be them---are you drinking???

Some might quit when the going seems a bit tough.
Also might want others to back their giving up on the team
in order to feel better about their fan-hood.
But for me:
I will always look for the light at the end of tunnel and not mire myself in the doom and gloom of expected failure .
Rutgers is going through a spot of trouble now, but still has a chance to qualify for a bowl invite.
I say bring on the games because Rutgers is going bowling this postseason and those fans who quit on this year's team, will find out their giving up hope was foolish .

For us true believers in RU's ability to overcome the obstacles it faces , this meme will ring true

Rutgers will find a way.

I look at it this way....which would you rather be?

A) Ignorant and happy for the next 5 years?

B) Focused and miserable for the next 5 years?

C) Reasonable and balanced for the next 5 years?

Well , I still am amazed that we somehow are playing for something . We somehow still can pull off a bowl invite as of this late date. Unlikely perhaps but still doable . The ONLY way to make it a reality is beating Michigan State on Saturday. Do that and then yes you are playing at home against our friends to the west of Piscataway at home .It would be the biggest game in a number of years. Lose this Saturday and post season becomes a day dream.

Who the Fock is we? Speak for yourself and change the title. I think we have a chance to win on Saturday. Could be a great weekend because MSOC could win the B1G tournament on Sunday.

And WSOC plays their first round NCAA tournament game Saturday at Yurcak.

The Nebraska game absolutely broke me for this year. I didn’t expect us to win more than four games this year anyway because we threw the towel in on O back in January when we did not replace departing Talent.

Link to cheating thread?
No link needed. Here's the cliff notes:

1. Don't get divorced; it's expensive.
2. Get a lawyer, hide your money, screw her over.
3. Skip the lawyers, be reasonable and save money.
4. Sell the wife and kids, skip divorce, save even more money.

Bet you can guess which of those was my suggestion. Well, one of my suggestions. 😀

Losing to Nebraska and Iowa, and the start of the BB season will do it to you.

On another note the other futbol team has a shot at a title!

Some don’t want to be UCONN in theory only. The head coach is begging to get behind NIL. It is the most important topic of discussion when it comes to success or failure our programs. It is not going away but let’s talk about tailgating instead of what’s important.
