"Arkansas director of football operations Randy Ross, who previously worked for 17 years at Alabama and oversaw recruiting efforts, recalled a player once choosing Tennessee over Alabama while citing that the Volunteers had soft-serve ice cream readily available.

“'Buddy, you’d better believe we had a soft-serve ice cream machine in Bryant Hall after that,' Ross said with a laugh."

Yes, that's nuts, but it is where we are. Cost of doing business.

And even if that is an excuse for something else you need to be able to counter.

Now, do we have a soft serve machine in the Hale Center?

Why are we spending so much on recruiting when so much of the best talent (which we're not getting) Is right in our backyard? Only a short drive away.

You answered your own question - "which we're not getting", thus, requiring expansion to other regions. Most of NJ's top talent want no part of the State school. No choice but to find talent in other areas.

Best recruiting tool is winning and being relevant. The ever present NJ talent knows we have neither to offer.
Who really wants to take such a high risk to board the college football "Titanic" when so many more enticing opportunities exist?
