BACATOLOGY 2/26: NCAA TOURNAMENT ANALYSIS

Seton Hall playing like ass down 33-16 to Creighton

Ole Miss up on Alabama in a game that would given their resume new life

Friars probably done.
Maryland confounding blowing us out on the road, NW wins convincingly at Maryland without two starters.
Samford blown out by .500 Wooford. Could they drop in seeding?
UVA up 4 at BC at the half. I know they play good D and tempo could be a problem but I am not scared of them.
Minny like Iowa is entertaining.
Colorado lives another day.
Tennessee v Auburn was great game.
St. John’s alive.
When SHU has a clunker they really have a clunker.

Oklahoma put up an anemic 45 up vs Iowa State in a loss. Sooners are not necessarily in trouble but they may need to win one and its Houston, Cincy and at Texas

St Johns big win at Butler just ended the Bulldogs realistic hopes. Meanwhile with the bubble melting around them are headed up up up but is it too late, with 2 games vs Gtown/DePaul left

Seton Hall blown out by Creighton 85-64...wont move them to the first four games but the problem is that UConn is next and another loss will send them into that grouping.

Virginia holds on and wins at BC 72-68

Oregon St at Oregon the only other bubble game of note as the Ducks try to fill the vacuum created by a bunch of bloated power 6 schools collecting 13 losses

Same thing happened with maryland two years ago. Won there and came home and Maryland beat us.

LAST 4 BYES: NEVADA, MISSISSIPPI STATE, SETON HALL, VIRGINIA
LAST 4 IN: GONZAGA, WAKE FOREST, PROVIDENCE, NEW MEXICO

FIRST FOUR OUT: UTAH, VILLANOVA, COLORADO, JAMES MADISON
NEXT FOUR OUT: KANSAS STATE, IOWA, DRAKE, SAINT JOHN'S
ON DECK: MEMPHIS, SYRACUSE, PRINCETON, OREGON

The Johnnies have games with those two horrible teams?

they will move up or down based on what other schools are doing around them. Those two games will not help their profile other than win total. If one conference tourney games might matter this year it would be in the Big East

Friars are done because they got hammered by the number five team in the country on the road ? They need to beat Villanova sat if they lose that yeah they may be done unless they should beat Uconn which is unlikely.

I just look at resume and sorta underwhelmed.
It’s not that you lost to Marquette, it’s that you got destroyed by Marquette.
Think behind SHU and now St. John’s gets the Pitino love. That’s all.

And at halftime Gonzaga leads University of San Francisco by 1 on the road.
wow it was one point at half and now its 70-48 Gonzaga...this is a Q1 road win for the Zags so they are in and quite possibly above the first four but we shall see in the morning

Washington State rallied from way back to oust USC and avert a big disaster for their seeding.

for shits and giggles...had Rutgers beaten Maryland and stood at 16-12 now they would have been somewhere around the St Johns spot maybe ahead maybe behind so 8/9th team out so that was a missed opportunity and now we are not even on the board for consideration

Ohio State now on the fringes....wins over Purdue, Alabama, Michigan State, and Nebraska
Bac - Incredibly been hearing a lot on Ohio State as of late given their recent wins vs Purdue / Sparty / Nebraska etc.

When you say Ohio State is on the “fringes “ - are they like at “next four out” ish ?

Have to wait until new numbers get crunched tomorrow but they might make it to 10th or 11th out

Realistically its a big longshot

I know not supposed to say this committee would do anything to get/keep the Zags in.
Pretty sure same for Nova. If they beat Providence….
St. John’s and Pitino approaching the same.
