Bac's Update Pecking Order: 3/5

Doesn't Rider get an automatic bid to NIT? Won conference I think.

Exactly. Ridiculous! Reward excellence. Three A10 teams going to get in when Davidson wins today. Four PAC 12 teams with USC, UCLA, Arizona and probably State. Maybe Utah? Once again underrated. Pretty wild.

Tell me again how the quadrant system is a fair system to MTSU, Vermont, Louisiana- Lafayette, ODU, WKU, South Dakota, St.Mary's, Boise, etc

Dozens of losses are fine as long as you have quadrant wins and opportunities that nobody else has.. absolute rigged quadrant system.

You might have a beef with some of those teams but Dan Hurley offered a game to St Mary's coach Randy Bennett and he declined. So I really hope they get left out. I feel sorry for their fans but maybe it will bring some heat on Bennett to schedule some decent completion.

You keep talking about excellence and what's fair but provide no objective criteria that you favor. It seems you simply look at W/L record and nothing else. If that's your favored analysis, RPI is right up your alley. You also whine about the Quadrants, but say nothing about the old record vs top 50 and top 100 of the RPI they used to us. Do you prefer they only look at record vs top 100 or is the Quadrant system an improvement on that?

note that St Marys beat tourney teams New Mexico State, Call State Fullerton and another possible tourney team in Harvard besides the win at Gonzaga.

I will tell you I am struggling for my last 2 picks right now...they literally can be anyone depending on what criteria and justification the committee wants to use. They will always justify a selection that totally contradicts another criteria.

Listening to the chairmen from late last night, he is emphasizing how you did against teams in the field and road wins.....thats why I think USC might be out now...they are just 2-7 against NCAA schools whereas St Mary's was 3-1 with a shot at 4-1 if Harvard qualifies...Arizona State was 5-2, Syracuse was 5-9, Louisville was like 3-13, OKie State was 8-12

Guess we will see if A-10 gets three teams in.

Seems like there is one spot open according to Bracket Matrix between St Mary's, Arizona State, Louisville most likely. There is pretty strong agreement on the other 67 teams although that doesn't mean it will happen.

I repeat how do the quadrants help mid majors?? Excellence is a great season. Much more interesting than dozen loss teams that play each other and have dozens of quadrant opportunities against each other. I don’t need to see a 15 loss Alabama no matter how good. Give the mid majors a chance.

Davidson steals a spot from the field...who that is? hmm....but quite frankly any of the last 4 in teams do not deserve bids and the last 4 out do not either...so crying should be minimal this year.

Davidson played great their last 10 games - well deserved bid. Middle Tennessee should also get a bid along with St. Bonaventure. I'm tired of seeing these middle of the road Power 5 teams getting in.

Tell that to Blockm2.

I repeat are the quadrants worse than previous criteria?

As for me, I’m happy watching better basketball teams instead of the runners up in terrible little conferences that have W/L records inflated by playing crap competition. There are other tournaments that can invite bad teams with shiny records.

Last 10 criteria is long gone.

So I correctly predicted MTSU, Nevada and Rhode losing and bids stolen.

Is St. Mary the 1st ever LOCK that didn't get in?

that I had yes, I think a few years most pundits had South Carolina a lock for weeks but they imploded down the stretch and then only in the last few days became a bubble team that most kept in and they were left out.

I made an error but realized it and kept St Marys out of my final projected field...it was the year of bloated power conference toads, just too many of them for the Gaels to overcome
