We have no right losing to St John's this year. No right being blown out by 20 nineteen times in less than 3 seasons. No right to have 3 20 loss years in a row.

Might as well pin this post, because it is never going to change again.

we have only lost by 10, 16, and 12...progress

of course we know have to rely on other schools sleepwalking for these games to be this close

I know some fans are disappointed that we aren't losing by more. They really hope every team brings their A game against our PWO players.

Yeah. It's not like this awful losing hasn't been going on for three years. It's just this year and these injuries that are the cause.

We don't have shooters is not an acceptable excuse in Year 3 either.

This has been about as bad as any NBA to NCAA experiment in history.

Or in Eddie year 1 when they lost by 62 points. The Eddie Jordan era is the worst "basketball" I have ever seen.
Who was injured in 2006, 2007, 2008? Have you guys been following the team? I guess you forgot how we got to this point.

So you're saying Eddie does enough next season to earn another (fifth) year? Good luck.

You get three seasons to not look clueless and if you still look clueless then you deserve to go.

Eddie spends more time on his suit than teaching defense that translates on gameday

If the nba experience argument holds weight than injuries shouldn't matter. You'd think Eddie's supposed genius would at least lead to ONE FREAKIN WIN against a good team or injury-riddled Illnois

Stop the madness.

Year 1 - blame Rice, blame lack of talent, blame Seagears, blame Cox.

Year 2 - blame lack of PG, blame Jack and Etou motor, blame facilities, demote out of element Mike O'Koren to non recruiting role.

Year 3 - blame I juries, blame fans, blame lack of shooters

I'm not defending his record. I just find it funny that most here thinks we are in the gutter because of EJ. The program has been in a bad place since early 2000. We spent all of our money on football and neglected basketball. Then we had the worst PR incident before EJ. We have not won more than 15 games since 2005. We were a bad team that was hit hard by injuries. I'm not defending EJ but I don't fault EJ either.

Keeping Jordan another year would be neglecting basketball IMO

It's not his fault but he owns the three year record just like everyone before him owns their personal coaching record.

Facilities, losing history, no fan base. Yes it's bad. But you don't throw your hands up and say "this is what we have to except" - you try to do better.

More NJ recruits went to Iona-Monmouth thAn Penn-State/Rutgers.

Sign of the times and that's on Eddie

But don't you see the trend. Are we going to hire a new coach every 3 years? Look for the common denominator here.

So keeping him four years just to break the cycle does what for the program? Does it help stabilize the program even he's gone after he fourth season?

Your missing my point. The only thing that will stabilize the program is by committing money to the program like we did with football. After that, you can attract good coaches that can recruit good players. I'm certain we will not be able to hire anyone good plus we will throw away good money to buyout EJ. This half ass approach is getting old.

We have to spend money to buyout Eddie next year too.

Sendek's unemployed. Donations are coming in. We're closer to facilities now more than ever.

If Illinois, Memphis and UNLV are the only attractive openings in the spring, we have a realistic shot at hiring our first ACC/PAC10 HC .... Ever? He's 52, younger thAn Mike Brey who recently visited a recruits HS and hung out in the student section.

Sendek is considered boring by many but you hire the most qualified candidate.

I would tend to agree that buying out Jordan would be a waste of money better used to fix the program.
But raising the money to pretty up the facilities and such will not be done quickly even with the State's help.
So getting someone that can start RU on the road to respectability at a reasonable rate , but not on the cheap like RU always does, might be the answer.
If Hobbs can find enough boosters to help with the buyout and hire a proven program builder
it might be the wise thing to do, if Hobbs isn't confident that Jordan is the one that can or deserves one more year because of the roadblocks he's had to navigate.
But Hobbs shouldn't keep Eddie just because of money, this program deserves to be treated right for once.
