It's match night! Rutgers wrestling is just fifteen minutes away from taking on their in-state rival, Princeton. This should be a great match for the New Jersey wrestling fans, which features a number of ranked match-ups, and some very intriguing swing bouts. It should be a good one!

First whistle is at 7:00 pm, stay tuned for TKR's bout-by-bout updates!

The dual will start at 165-lbs, in what will be a stretch of the four most important bouts of the dual, in my opinion, from 165 - 197.

Starting things off for Rutgers will be Andrew Clark, facing Blaine Bergey at 165-lbs

Clark gave up that opening TD insanely quickly/easily.

Clark escapes to make it 2-1, after one minute into the first period

Clark scrambles to a takedown on a re-attack, making it 3-2 Clark with just under a minute remaining in the first period

Clark gives up an escape to Bergey with under ten seconds left in the first period, tying the match at three.

Clark going down to start the second period

Bergey steps over a whizer to get a late takedown, and take a 5-4 lead. The period ends shortly after the restart.

Bergey going on defense to start the third

Bergey escapes, but Clark has over a minute of RT. Bergey scores a takedown, shortly after his escape, on a wild scramble. Goodale is challenging the call, saying Clark had two before Bergey scored.

As it stands right now, Bergey leads Clark 8-4 with eight seconds left in the match

Clark is unable to work any magic, and drops an 8-4 decision. Disappointing performance by Clark. Definitely could have had that one.

Princeton leads 3-0

Clark was terrible at the end of the periods and it costs him. Insanely sloppy.

Gives up the escape with 5 seconds left in the 1st, then gives up a takedown at the end of the 2nd with 6 seconds left, and then can't finish a takedown at the end of the 3rd while in a great position which ends up with him giving up two.

Really puts a ton of pressure on O'Neill to win now.

Period ends scoreless, but there were several fun flurries throughout the period.

O'Neill going down to start the second

O'Neill is going to get hit for stalling soon if he does not start moving forward

The one-armed, head-on shots are putting O'Neill in terrible spots. He has managed to avoid giving up points though. Need to fire two hands on those shots.

Period ends on the feet, with O'Neill still leading 1-0.

Dugan goes on bottom

O'Neill with a huge takedown as he counters a Dugan shot attempt. 3-1 O'Neill with 50 seconds left in the match

Mikey Squires takes the mat for Princeton, rather than the nationally ranked Travis Stefanik. John Poznanski takes Squires down almost immediately for an early 2-0 lead

Princeton essentially said "screw the dual meet" by not wrestling Stefanik. They cannot win without him. My interest has decreased immensely.
Seriously. What a buzzkill.

I wonder if we even see Glory at this point.

Poznanski playing the take em down, let em up game, amassing four takedowns throughout the period. Period ends with Poz leading 8-3.

Poz starting the second period on bottom
