Wrestling MATCH THREAD: Rutgers vs. Princeton - B1G/Ivy Rivalry

Yeah there was one point late where old Poz flies behind for two. He got stuck halfway through tonight and just came back to the front.

If I remember correctly, they either can agree on a starting weight or draw if one of the teams wants to. Could be wrong on that, but I believe that is how it goes.
I heard PU likes to start as far away from 125 as possible to give Glory more time to recover after weigh-ins.

PU had Monday at 157.....if we are not up by 6, i will be a nervous wreck
If we aren’t up 6 with Oliveri, Rivera, and MVB still to come something went HORRIBLY wrong since we are currently up 10.

Halftime Thoughts (for real this time):
- Clark looked flat, was disappointed in how he wrestled
- Not O'Neill's best performance, but he did a heck of a job not giving up takedowns in those scrambles
- Really disappointed to not see Stefanik and Poz wrestle. Hard to get a read as to where Poz is at given the level of competition he faced.
- Bulsak looked dominant against a very tough competitor. Easily the first half OW
- Boone NEEDS to get more aggressive. I thought Cover was an ideal opponent for him. Similar build, loves to go in over-unders; thought it was a great opportunity for Boone to show some offense

Good point..my math is horrible.....for some reason i thought RU was only ahead a few points

Agree 100%

Action will resume at 125-lbs where Dylan Shawver will take on No. 2 Pat Glory

Glory with a tilt and gets a four-count, making it 8-1. Shawver then reverses Glory to make it 8-3. Glory escapes almost immediately, and it goes to 9-3 Glory with 40 seconds left in the first

Period ends in a scramble, but no additional scores. 9 - 3, Glory.

Glory goes on defense to start the second period

Period ends on the feet, with Glory holding a 10-3 lead. The Rutgers bench has to be really happy with Shawver's fight thus far.

Shawver chooses neutral

Shawver with a shot attempt, but Glory scores off a scramble, making it 12-3, Glory

Glory keeps Shawver down, and will walk away with a 13-3 major decision.

Rutgers leads 13 - 7

Olivieri with an assassin to get two and four backs! Kayal gets a reversal right before time expires. Olivieri up 6-2 going into the second.

Anyone know what’s up with Anthony Clark? He’s had no matches this season nor did he have any last year due to the Ivies being cancelled.

Period ends neutral, with Olivieri still leading 7-2.

Kayal going to start the third period on bottom

Oliveri is fun to watch. Can’t wait to see what he does the next few years.

Kayal gets a reversal off an Olivieri cradle attempt, but it will not matter, as time expires with Oliveri earning an 8-4 decision.

Rutgers now leads Princeton 16-7

Rivera takes injury time. It appears he may have tweaked his knee as he went out of bounds with Coles

Per injury time rules, Coles has choice, and chooses neutral on the restart

Period ends with no additional scores. Rivera is still leading 4-0.

Rivera going on bottom
