Mid to upper 80's today through Sunday. Too hot for this time of year. Miss the snow and cold.

What are you doing to beat the heat? Ocean temps too cold for swimming at the beach. Forecast for Belmar appears to be 5-10 degrees lower than rest of NJ.

Will likely hit the pool and may go kayaking in the Manasquan River, because that other thread was an inspiration.

You have some Florida weather. Golf in the morning, beach in the afternoon. Gotta have a barbeque in there sometime.

And we have a travel softball coach who's insists on two hour practices that start at 3:30 in the afternoon.
He's an excellent coach and the kids are always moving, they're either doing fly balls, grounders, throwing, hitting, running the basses or cutoffs and relays…but they're 10 and unders!
Kids are resilient right? My problem is I'm his friggen assistant…lol

so much for having Spring.

seriously, what happened to Spring? is that no longer a season?

I thought this was just a Jersey thing, but was talking with a friend who lives in upstate NY and there are a few coaches like that. Insane.
Glad my kids were not inclined to play travel. Saved us so many Sundays and travel time to do things like relaxing at the pool or going fishing.

Sarcasm? I sure am gonna miss the rainy, dreary, cold little league baseball nights the last two months.

As usually happens, we are having the complete opposite in SoCal. Winter was awesome, almost summer like conditions. Two weeks ago it got cold and hasn't stopped. Cloudly and cold every day.

Bring back the heat!

Went to the shore to walk around and had lunch. Boy, it's hot or I'm just getting old. It might be hotter due to the reflection of the white sand. I was thinking about moving to Florida but I remember that when I lived in Houston, stayed in a lot in air conditioned room to get away from the heat. I like to get out in mild weather.

didnt you just post a few weeks ago how cold and unspring like it was....mid to upper 80s is about 10 degrees above normal but certainly nothing outragerous this time of year.

dont fall for the storybook picture of spring, spring in the northeast is generally a back and forth of cool/wet with some sunny warm days sprinkled in. The idea that we get nice stretches is false. Some years we do but generally we dont and have to fight to get the summer pattern to get in. April actually was very spring like for those who wanted sun and mild temps in the 60s...May not so much but such is May, its a transitional month and here we are transitioning into summer this week.

I really enjoyed this spring. Meteorological summer begins on June 1st, so it's not unusual to have days in May up near or even over 90F. Thought it was warm, but not unbearable today. I don't love the heat or the sun (burn easily), but I've never let it affect doing outdoor things - likely to play my first round of golf this season on Friday. First snowflakes are less than 6 months away...

My spider senses say you are trying to turn this into a winter storm thread. It's a nice peaceful thread right now.

This type of weather thread beats the snow ones BY A LOT!!!!!!!![banana]:okay::cool2:[cheers]

mid to upper 80s is the average high for NJ for about 6-8 weeks...do you ever go outside...

For those 6-8 weeks, I'm probably inside more than outside (at least during the heat of the day). When the temperature is between 40 and 80, I'm outside all the time. When the temperature is below 40, I'm only outside if I'm active.

Gman, Have to go to a concert at a winery in West Windsor at 1. I may have to rent a helicopter to drop me on Tenton Social for a quickie and then back to the show.Enjoy yourself..

This summer is going to be hot as hell.

http://nypost.com/2016/05/25/this-summer-is-going-to-be-hot-as-hell/

Might not have to move south for warmer weather since the weather is changing in the Northeastern and Mid Atlantic states in the next several years and will go up several degrees.
Seasonal forecast accuracy is pretty low, so I wouldn't get too worked up about this one. They're all based on analogs to previous seasons that had similar global/regional indices (like El Nino/La Nina) at this time. Problem is that analog-based predictions just aren't that accurate yet - with the exception of Dr. Gray's tropical seasonal forecasts, which are correct more often than chance would dictate. His forecast this year is for an average tropical season in the Atlantic Basin.
