If an off-season baseball acquisition prompts you to throw a bowl of spaghetti at your TV screen, maybe you need to assess how far away YOU are from imploding? 😉
Depends on what type of sauce. red sauce No, Vodka sauce yes

He's an ambassador. Who cares.
You seriously think at some point he doesn't becomes more involved in baseball discussions? I'm sure MLB has rules about how many can have official titles in the front office. Sandy and Cohen and whoever gets the full time temporary GM job, Scott or Ricco they will pick Omar's brain. Your being very shortsighted with the "who cares" comment. LFGM

My understanding is that Omar is very good player developing, international scouting...And highly respected in these areas. I was surprised when he wasn't retained from the start.

Wilpon/Madoff 2.0!
:)
Keep praying real hard, lmfao
He is trying as hard as he can...

There is still a lot of work to be done but Cohen has Significantly improved our ball club. I don't even care if he did or did not get the guys we wanted. As long as there is thought behind it and we make good moves and good baseball decisions.

As for the Madoff, Cohen's company has bailed out another fund...let's see how it all plays out. This is pretty much the risk and business he has been in collecting his 14 billion or so...

Reportedly circling in on Aaron Loup as the lefty out of the pen. Very strong numbers against them.

Now sign a glove-first backup CF and call it a day. Keep some powder dry for the future!

like you said. be totally ok with signing someone like Bradley Jr. And that’s it. I’d also be ok with trying to trade for Arenado or Bryant if we don’t have to give up too much.

I don’t think JBJ is looking to be a backup or late inning replacement. I would rather go with a true defensive replacement for a million or so.
now, tell me we can trade for a Arenado- I would be ok with that...as long as we don’t let Conforto walk or deGrom take his opt out.

Why are you so enamored with Bauer? Especially when he wants more than deGrom?
While Bauer most likely puts the Met’s right up there with LA/Atl...I still think a horrible move if we give him more than deGrom.
I still don’t trust he is the 11 game CY winner rather than a 4+ era guy.
mri me, those clamoring for Bauer to the Mets are more enamored with Madden moves than true baseball moves.

So, assuming no further moves, and assuming no DH, here's how the 26 man roster shakes out as of now:

STARTING LINEUP (8)
Nimmo CF
Lindor SS
Conforto RF
Alonso 1B
Smith LF
Davis 3B
McNeil 2B
McCann C

BENCH (5)
Nido C
Guillorme IF
Peraza OR Drury IF (non-roster)
Martinez OF
Heredia OR Mallex Smith (non-roster)

STARTING PITCHER (5)
deGrom
Stroman
Carrasco
Peterson
Lucchesi OR Lugo

RELIEF PITCHER (8)
Diaz
May
Loup
Lugo (if not a starter)
Familia
Betances
Brach
One or two others from about a dozen candidates

Give me a defensive fourth outfielder, maybe another bench bat, and I'm good to go. I doubt that Sandy is though. He clearly has reservations about Davis at 3B, and I doubt he's enamored with Nimmo in CF.
