Love today’s news. A clean slate. Have complete faith that Alderson and Cohen will hire a front office much more capable then the outgoing rodeo show. Finally the financial wherewithal to compete in a big market town. Did Cohen secure the restraining order on Baby Wilpon so he doesn’t come within 100 miles of CitiField ever again?
Happy to see that the true Mets fans got a great start to a better future. First a new owner and than he cleans house. The so called Mets fans who supported BVM and his staff should be embarrassed. Good things ahead for NY Mets. Now all we need is for the Yankees to fire Cashman and we can dream for a Yankees/ Mets World Series.

How beautiful it is to get rid of the Wilpon stench henchmen. Steve Cohen has done more for my morale as a Mets fan than the Coupons ever did.
Anyone associated with the Kelenic deal should be gone.

No. He got canned on SNY for being too critical of nonsense moves by the Wilpons and management. Maybe I'm alone on this, but he was a great analyst who did not pull any punches. The studio post game has really been watered down, toeing the company line.
Bobby lived in the same town as me. I don't know him, but he was great, IMO.

He did right by many of his former clients. Should be easy to transition back to being an agent.
True, but I suspect Alderson initiated the discussion. Cohen really wanted Alderson to be signed, sealed and delivered before the owners voted. He perceived (correctly IMO) that having Alderson on board would improve his chances of approval. Alderson had the leverage, and as we see he used it decisively and mercilessly.
As mentioned previously in this thread, Cohen and Minaya have a strong relationship. He's out because Alderson wanted him out.
Agree. Can’t keep any of the Wilpon stench. Alderson knows it and Cohen understands it. It’s nothing personal. Just Business.
Hopefully they clear out some of the SNY “talent” too, they have some poor shows and commentators. But Wilpons still own SNY.
I wish the Mets made this move. Somerset Patriots home, TD Bank Ballpark, right off Rt 287 would have been great to see up and coming players.

Great day to be a Mets fan, now at least we will be playing chess instead of checkers when driving up the cost of free agents we don't really want! Lets set the bait and take suitors out of the picture, one by one. Sandy will rebuild the minors with talent like most of the current players came from with Sandy finding them.
