F-ing A!!! And I woke up this morning so ready for the season to begin.
Wish this news was as big as this scoop by Rich Eisen. But it is what it is, 🤷🏻♂️
Tomorrow was a scheduled off day. I guess the point is that the game will not be made up tomorrow.

Interesting how this immediately went from "They aren't talking and have no plans to talk" to "We have a deal!" Obviously they were talking but we didn't know it. Looks like Cohen leaks what he wants to leak. What he doesn't want leaked, is shut tight. That is encouraging.

Fun fact about the extension, per Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic (paywall):
In return for Cohen upping the ante to $341M, Lindor agreed to defer about $50M. This made the present value of the deal about equivalent to the $325M which Lindor had previously turned down.
So why did he accept a financially equivalent offer? Because on paper at least, his $341M is more than Tatis' $340M.

Seriously, Colorado will be one of the worst teams in baseball. They could lose 100 games this year. Also, Bauer's stats over his career are similar to Noah Syndergaard's.
Who cares about similar career stats? Completely meaningless.
Bauer is on the upswing and a major upswing as a dominant pitcher and Noah has never elevated to the next level and is a ? coming off TJ Surgery.

I understand perception is more important to you than facts. Bauer's career era is 3.91 and Syndergaard's career era is 3.31. Could last year's performance an anomaly? Btw, a dominant pitcher doesn't have an era around 4.
Reality : Noah’s ERA in 2019 was over 4. He did not pitch in 2020. Coming off TJ Surgery.
Reality: Bauer pitched in the American League which with the DH and more AL potent offenses will lead to a higher ERA.
Perceived Summary: It’s plausible and reasonable to say both are comparable over their careers. It’s possible Bauer’s season last year was an anamoly. But his stuff was electric thru 6 innings last night and Bauer may simply be one of these pitchers who learned how to put it all together once they hit 30 or so. It happens. And he has a prescence on the mound that is electric and fun to watch. Baseball needs more of these guys! He would have been perfect for Mets.
Bauer had only 2 seasons where era has been below 4. I know the AL has the DH, but having an era above 4 all other years is still high and speaks to who he really is as a pitcher.
Look at his body of work so far for Bauer with the Dodgers. He has pitched well until the one inning where he implodes.
Bauer's spring stats with the Dodgers:
Record of 1-2 over 6 appearances with an era of 4.14. First start of the season: 1-0 with an era of 5.68.
He is a good pitcher, but let's not make Bauer out to be a savior.
