Suppose the Blue Jays reach the World Series?Do you know if all of the Mets are vaccinated? The Braves? The Dodgers? The Padres?
Already we know about the Philly Phour and about the Cardinals' MVP candidates but we know nothing about the other 4 teams.
Manfred has allowed Canada's answer to Hunter Biden to dictate the terms here but Manfred is not helpless. He can order that all Blue Jays' postseason home games be played at a neutral stadium in Free North America.

Not sure why there was a need for the HB reference- let’s keep the politics out of this thread.

But, it is a great question...And the baseball policy baffles me a little as I had to travel to Canada just last month- drove up- just outside of Toronto.

There is no longer a requirement to be vaccinated. You just have to show a proof of a negative test- I want to say maybe 72 hour prior but it may be shorter. And agree that you may get a random test upon entering.

There's no avoiding it, only minimizing it. Too many peopleh have a political strain of Tourette's, and you get things like this.
If you were kept out of a concert in Newark for that reason,a concert that I could walk to,a concert that may never again appear,Journey and Kansas-only to see all requirements dropped two days later for another type of concert, you may have pretty much the same feelings as do I,that this was never about health but only about power.

Okay, I stand corrected on "only the Mets".

Yet Kershaw went on the IL three different times after April. A lot of good that pitch count did?

I simply feel that as an organization that hasn't had a single pitcher no hitter, they should've thrown caution to the wind. No Santana's doesn't count. If they had replay in 2012, Beltran would've had a hit after review.

And if they had replay back then, the Cardinals would’ve won the 1985 World Series… Or Armando Galaraga would’ve had his perfect game… Or blah blah blah.

Before replay...the poster you are answering doesnt get baseball- imperfect game and imperfect umpiring. Sometimes, one of the reasons we love it so much.

I would bet that there are a large number of significant blown call in so many significant games that it isn't even funny.

How many no hitters happened on pitches that were not in the strike zone called a 3rd strike? This may have happened 2nd inning or 9th.
How many big hits or HR's are on a pitch thrown after a ball call that could have ended an inning.
How many significant hits happened on bang bang plays or stolen bases.

Santana's no hitter counts as much as any of them.

We can only hope that another Journey Kansas concert never appears.

Tim Britton of The Athletic (paywall) had an interesting article about how tempestuous the Mets franchise has been in recent years. Since their last playoff appearance in 2016, they have had five managers, the most in MLB.

Terry Collins
Mickey Callaway (now on Restricted List)
Carlos Beltran (now in unofficial limbo)
Luis Rojas
Buck Showalter.

But that's nothing compared to the number of Heads of Baseball operations during that time. EIGHT separate tenures.

Sandy Alderson
John Ricco / Omar Minaya / J.P. Ricciardi
Brodie Van Wagenen
Sandy Alderson again
Jared Porter (now on Restricted List)
Zack Scott
Sandy Alderson again
Billy Eppler

There could well be a ninth next year, to whom Eppler would report.

Over the past couple of weeks- our hitting has become insanely good-
Nimmo with a .424 OBP 2 SB
McNeil at .314 BA 431 OBP
Alonso .278 .365 OBP .902 OPS
Lindor .305 ba .351 OBP 901 ops
Escobar - forgetaboutit
Catchers- .307 ish BA and 820ish OPS
even Vogey and Naquin hitting well.
Cahna is the only one struggling but he is still getting on base at a .339 OBP

Need to carry this hitting through the rest of the way

St. Lucie just just became the FSL Champs!!! Parada and Tidwell played well tonight!!!

I'm not sure I would. He'll be what 36 next season? Time to inject some youth.
A failed attempt at humor on my part. I am pretty sure Carrasco is hoping that the Mets will exercise their $14M option. I doubt he is getting that on the open market.

Mets problem is that they have to make a decision on Carrasco before they know whether they can re-sign the guys who they want to re-sign.
