Turd alert - reppin_jerz and psu fans are here again
Ok, so obviously there's some bias on my end since I'm a penn state fan and alum, and obviously you have some bias being a Rutgers fan....
Now that that's established you would be a fool to believe that Barkley was a 4.65 at best last year.... Did you watch him at all last year? He outran every player on your team and if you watch his season highlights you will see him break a 50 yard run on OSU where he outran their CB Eli Apple (Eli Apple just ran a 4.40 at the combine).
Say what you want about our QB and o line situations, they are their own seperate issues, but Barkley is amazing and hopefully stays healthy because he puts together some dazzling runs that are simply fun to watch if you enjoy football, not just your allegiance to your team.
I don't know that PSU will be able to put together a team to allow him to do it in his time here, but Barkley is the kind of talent that could win the Heisman if he was on the right squad
Forum topics about PSU will do that :)
Apparently we've only been keeping track of the strength records since O'Brien and his strength coach Fitz got here in 2012 but it was no secret that strength training under Joe was not on par with other D1 programs. That was the one of the 1st things OB set about fixing when he got here.
I was just pointing out that the weak 19-year-old RB can apparently clean 40 more pounds than the strongest guy on Rutgers last season, according to another piece I found on NJ.com.
The obsession continues. Cannot wait for the foul mouth cursing and dumb arguments.
Because no other fanbase anywhere obsesses about their closest conference rivals...
I saw Barkley run down from behind several times last year, no way he is anywhere close to 4.38. That said, I think that 40 time is one of the most overrated aspects of a RB's talent set, and agree that Barkley is very talented. No need to lie about his speed, though.
Funny, whenever I brought that up during the latter JoePa years, Nit fans always denied it.
