Basketball Rutgers Basketball falls to Penn State, 61-46

Agree i dont see a big deal

If you dont have a white Rutgers t shirt im sure you have some kind of white t shirt to wear

I really don't - but it looks like I may not be able to make it tonight anyway, still dealing with the end of a sinus infection. I also highly doubt that we'll be a sellout in the far reaches of the 300s, so it'd be easy enough to shift to a seat in an odd-numbered section.

Doubt it will matter, though, because I doubt a large enough number of fans will be correctly attired to make one or two stick out in any way.

Lol! Just think a bad idea. Nobody is Angry. Who is mad at fans for wearing blue and green? Jeans are usually blue no? No reason to attack fans. Most wear RU gear that is red or black. Most RU gear is red, black or gray. No desire to wear merely a white tee shirt or polo on a January night. RAC isn’t that warm.

Unlike other schools our only official color is s Scarlet.

Might just be me but, We have organically and naturally grown the best home court advantage in the East and one of the best in the country without the gimmicks.

Really don’t think it needed to be done, but if you are going to do it, don’t do it against PSU who has perfectly it, don’t do in a game that is not likely a SRO, don’t do it with a game where likely more rival fans interspersed, don’t do it in Red & White(Red & Black much easier- white is tough), don’t do it on a Weds night, and don’t do it on an 8:30 game in the middle of winter.

If you are going to do it, wouldn’t it make sense, say a warmer March 10th, 2:00 in the afternoon, Sunday, at the end of the year and the students would have free tee shirts to wear on spring break and over the summer?

Just seems smarter IMHO. I hope it works out. I have my doubts.

My haiku reaction:

A stripe out tonight
Might be great or it might suck
EVEN so, it’s ODD

weird. I've gotten an email every day reminding me to wear RED

maybe check your spam folder?
Nothing there. And I get countless e-mails from Rutgers University Foundation, Rutgers Today, Rutgers Team Shop, Rutgers Ticket Office, Rutgers Scarlet Knights, Rutgers R Fund, Rutgers Athletics, Rutgers Alumni and on and on.

Jersey people hate being told what to do, except when it comes to certain things.

Wearing a color t shirt really seems to irk them. It's never going to work.

Alright. Got my white long-sleeve T. It's Rutgers Football though, but it'll do and I'll wear it again. Didn't want to be a party pooper tonight, but you really aren't supposed to wear white after Labor Day, just sayin'. 😄

What is the correlation some see with game start time / day of week and shirt color? How is that relevant? I could wear white on a 2pm sat game but not a wed 830 game? Uhhh wut??

Every Rutgers fan should have a red shirt. They give them away enough to get your hands on one without having to spend money if that is a real concern. I can't imagine anyone doesn't own a white shirt. It's not that hard

Sad thing is this would look sickkk on TV if done properly, but probably won't happen. If you're going to do a promo like this, best way is to just have shirts on every seat and make it a giveaway night

Is the whole purpose of this so it looks cool on television? If that’s the case why bother with the 300 seats? You see very little of them on tv and it’s usually a lot darker up there than the lower seats. Besides, that where the majority of the opposing team fans sit. I’ll do as a 304 resident but it really doesn’t make a lot of sense IMHO.

People hate late starts, are grouchy and less compliant. For an afternoon start on the weekends, people are more likely to wear scarlet sequined blazers accompanied by scarlet wigs. Studies have proven this time and again.

All kidding aside, the best way is what you mentioned - find a sponsor and leave the shirts on the lower level seats. It worked great for that ND game during the Waters era.

10th of March usually warmer than last Day of January and more likely to wear short sleeve?

2:00 pm in the middle of day usually warmer than 8:30 at night.

Which game more likely has better attendance all things being equal or in this case, Ohio State at 2:00 on a Sunday afternoon or PSU at 8:30 on a Wednesday night?

How many 8:30 starts do we have?

Just maybe there a correlation?

More than just a red shirt.
Need red, white and black in each of the following:
  • T-shirt
  • Long shirt/sweatshirt/hoodie
  • Rain jacket
  • Winter jacket
  • Hat

Does that about cover all the possible attire and weather options?
Can't wear a grey rain jacket at a football game.

I'm apparently an anomaly. The only white shirts I have are a few undershirts and one dress shirt.

With a pale complexion and more-salt-than-pepper hair, I've pretty much gotten rid of my light colored shirts at this point.
The last white Rutgers shirt I owned had the old steamboat-helmet knight logo on it, I think.

Go shirtless

Wait a minute: isn't it a major faux pas to wear white before Memorial Day?
