That's fine I'm not arguing any of it I don't have the experience but that's what was out there. I'm even pretty sure ESPN might have done a piece on CG on it back then too. The point another poster made was many southern coaches like to stay in the south and while that may be true I don't know if that's the case for Strong remembering what was out back then when he wasn't getting interviews and offers.Florida has probably the most liberal/least southern fanbase in the traditional SEC (not including Mizzou). A&M on the other hand is conservative (some might say redneck...) central. Google Kevin Sumlin wife. Strong isn't looking like a great HC so far, that's probably why he didn't get looks earlier, not because the color of his wife's skin.
Maybe 1 win 3 dumps.Texas has some tough games coming up
vs Cal
vs OK state
at TCU
and then Oklahoma.
I'll be pulling for Strong, but those will not be easy games to win.

Reading this thread has been something of an odyssey. .
Reading this thread has been something of an odyssey. It starts out as a discussion of TX being on the verge of firing its AD and replacing him with the football coach they just fired, then moved on to a discussion of Charlie Strong's job security, then somehow became a debate about whether or not Julie would be hired as TX AD, and went on to a debate as to whether or not she could lure Strong to RU if we will be needing a new head coach. That's quite a ride!
I'm not knocking him, more knocking his handling of offense. OC issues both at Louisville/Texas. Frankly, I think we should understand that considering our past revolving door of OCs.Lmao at people knocking him..we would never get anyone better
