Wow, Dumpster Fire in Austin

Florida has probably the most liberal/least southern fanbase in the traditional SEC (not including Mizzou). A&M on the other hand is conservative (some might say redneck...) central. Google Kevin Sumlin wife. Strong isn't looking like a great HC so far, that's probably why he didn't get looks earlier, not because the color of his wife's skin.
That's fine I'm not arguing any of it I don't have the experience but that's what was out there. I'm even pretty sure ESPN might have done a piece on CG on it back then too. The point another poster made was many southern coaches like to stay in the south and while that may be true I don't know if that's the case for Strong remembering what was out back then when he wasn't getting interviews and offers.

Just quickly looked up some old articles discussing what I was talking about.

Reading this thread has been something of an odyssey. It starts out as a discussion of TX being on the verge of firing its AD and replacing him with the football coach they just fired, then moved on to a discussion of Charlie Strong's job security, then somehow became a debate about whether or not Julie would be hired as TX AD, and went on to a debate as to whether or not she could lure Strong to RU if we will be needing a new head coach. That's quite a ride!

TX has seemed like the odd man out in the B12 lately and its football program has declined dramatically since that problem began to surface. Its competition must be finding ways to recruit against the Horns because they are now finding it difficult to crack the top half of the conference. So it is understandable that many of the TX fans are unhappy with the AD. How long has he been there? Was it he who fired Mack?

I have a lot of respect for Charlie Strong, who I believe went 3-0 against us in the last three years of the rivalry. I would root for him were he not at TX, which I can't root for against anyone other than ND (and maybe TTFP). He always struck me as a straight forward guy and a strict disciplinarian. If RU needs a new coach after this season, it might do well to consider him since he has done a lot to try to bring the TX program under control and we might be needing the same thing.

In other words, just another typical psycho thread on this board.

Lmao at people knocking him..we would never get anyone better
I'm not knocking him, more knocking his handling of offense. OC issues both at Louisville/Texas. Frankly, I think we should understand that considering our past revolving door of OCs.

As far as value I do think 5M was too much and said so even the 3.5M bump he got at Louisville seemed too much to me because I wanted to see him perform without TB and if he could repeat the same results and said so at the time for that as well. It doesn't matter to some schools because they have money to burn but something like that would matter to us.

Dumpster fire? Not hardly. The guy's being run out of town with pitchforks, the entire department is ringing church bells today. RU unfortunately has a real dumpster fire.

Also failing to see why it is a dumpster fire. Big deal, they are changing AD...little surprise there.
