How on earth did Alvarez turn a Gross ankle pick into his own takedown. That was insane.
Sammy's scrambling is insane. Not sure how he pulled 2 out of that lol.
That was an absolutely insane sequence. I really hope you all are watching this because I cant' put that into words.

Its been 50 years since I wrestled in college. And apparently strategy has changed a bit, as I fail to understand choosing top in the final period when down 2-1, since its easier to score points from bottom or neutral than top. Could you be so kind as to please educate this wrestling fossil?
That’s a horrendously long 1 count for Sammy and a horrendously quick 2 count for Gross. Four point swing. Ridiculous.

Alvarez gets to a late shot, but cannot capitalize. Gross wins 9-6, and the crowd lets the official know what they think of him
I know there has not been a lot to be excited about this season, but Rutgers fans should be really excited about the future for Sammy Alvarez.

We may only have two going. I believe Alvarez and Janzer have shown they can compete with the best. I take Two AAs from them.
Alvarez has a chance. I don’t see any way Janzer is an AA this year though I think he’ll get there in the future.
I don't think too many high seeds want to see Sammy as their 1st or 2nd round matchup at the NCAAs

Aguilar needs to win this 9th place match to get a definite at large bid. He will still have a decent shot if he loses but that will depend on who else needs an at large bid throughout the country.
