Eddie Jordan MUST be fired

Try again. Fail. !!

Sigh. Must I? FYI- 2 is more than 1, which equals "multiple." Admit you're wrong @goru7.

"Here was the scene with 12 minutes left until halftime and the Wolverines trailing Rutgers by one point: Freshman point guard Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman led a five-man unit including Sean Lonergan, a walk-on forward, and Andrew Dakich, a walk-on guard, along with freshman forwards Kameron Chatman and Mark Donnal."

Umm,

No. You're one of the few left who is holding on to the idea Eddie coming back next year is a good idea. I'm sure you're a good guy, but most here are confused by your refusal to see the situation as it actually is.
I don't do what is politically correct when it is not in the best interest of Rutgers University. We have hired on the cheap for 25 years, we have 10 straight losing seasons, we don't have a practice facility , nor do we have a program that has been supported for 20 plus years . We are a coaching graveyard. You actually think we are getting a coach that is a game changer. St . John's just lost by 41 today and the worst loss since 1941. They are 1-16 in the Big East. Are they firing Chris Mullin, or talking about it? You cannot be a CEO and not look at the long term well fare of the program. You think because Eddie has lost with walk ons and by a big margin , it is too much for you to handle as a fan. Grow a set!! We have 3 Big 10 quality starters next year, another freshman who will be a contributor , big guys back that can at least rebound , block shots, and a solid bench . My question to you is why you cannot see that ?? Tell me you are bringing Coach K in tomorrow, and I am all in. But if you know our history, then don't tell me we will be better off next year, with Joe Smo as the coach. Do you get it? Common now, you are capable !! You can disagree with me but don't give me your shit about next year will be better just because some idiot coach will ruin his career by coming here.

Dude, the way you insult people and call everyone names is a bit f*cking odd to say the least. People differ on their opinions, deal with it, but try to be respectful of others. We are all entitled to our opinions.
I guess you selectively only read what is posted by me, but forget to read what is posted at me.. Respectful of others? Go police the amigos, Dude!!!

I guess you forgot to read the article. Who is Derrick Walton, Aubrey Dawkins and Max Bieafeld and what did they do?? I thought when you first started responding or attacking my posts, you knew little about basketball , but you have made it crystal clear , you have never played a competitive game of basketball in your life.!,,

Oh right, I forgot all the games Rutgers won with the kids you're talking about winning 8 games next year like Corey and Laurent. Please stop. It's embarrassing.

But keep telling me how I've never played, like you know me.

By the way, I've never attacked or called anyone a fool like you have. I've disagreed and think you're very wrong, and have proven it multiple times. But I don't attack your character.

We have three Big Ten starters so I guess we will win 8 games in the conference next year.

We had three Big Ten starters last year, too.

Keeping Jordan is actually "cheap"

Buying him out, hiring the right coach and building facilities will put Rutgers on the right track.

If you don't see it, you don't see it.

Can't wait to have my character attacked by goru7

Also, I did read the entire article. Let me quote one more line from it:

"Thanks to gritty play and Rutgers' general ineptness, though, it was enough."

You have never proven me wrong once. Don't give yourself credit for nothing. Secondly , it is obvious you have never played basketball or understand anything about it. You post some crap about Michigan winning with walk ons against us last year, and all their scholarship players scored all their points except the 2 walk ons that played a few minutes had combined 2 points and 1 rebound out of their 54 points. The article's point was that they were very lucky to win. So not only do you know next to nothing about basketball from reading your posts , you have trouble reading as well.
Why don't you admit that was a stupid post by you.
Since when is telling you that it appears you have not played a competitive game of basketball in your life, attacking your character. I am attacking your knowledge of the game. !!

They, like Rutgers this season, had to play with walk-ons. The difference is, they won. They won with better coaching.

You said I attacked your posts, which I haven't. I've disagreed with you. And while you may not have attacked me, you've attacked others--calling one a "disrespectful fool." You've never proven me wrong. You never win these arguments. You come up with excuse after excuse as to why this poorly coached team (and the stats show that) is not poorly coached. And then you say the stats don't matter, watch the games. And just about everyone sees RU doesn't pass the eye test.

Listen, I get it. You've dug in. But I'm sorry, man, you're wrong. Eddie isn't the answer here. He is a terrible coach. Especially at the college level. Whatever connection you have to him or to the 1976 team is admirable, but it is just not working here.

Oh and by the way; Eddie Jordan is not better than Joe Schmo. Don't disrespect the Joe Schmo's out there.

Eddie Jordan would love the spirit of Joe Schmo's team after the Schmo's scored 100 points to our 67. Schmo has a wicked 1-3-1, like Loneran's but more Spider Web-y.

Schmo has a Pitino style press that makes you wish you were Jerome Seagears running PG against Lville in 2014.

Jordan might be better than Joe Schmo if he scheduled all the Joe Schmo's from Division 3 and went 15-17 with a CIT appearance

If we had to name the Eddie Jordan of fans, I would nominate you.

You're stubborn and out of your element. You talk a big game. You blame this embarrassment on everyone but the man in the mirror.

You adjust to criticisms about as well as Jordan does against a well-schemed offense.

I haven't see you win an argument on this site, which is about on par with our winless conference season.

You're on the tracks and poor bastard you don't even see the train coming right atcha. Boom!

What do you not understand that the Ru that is playing 3 walk ons and Goode for a ton of minutes is not the team we would have fielded without the injuries. More importantly, now that you have seen Coreyand Jon, and seeing what they have done positively and what happened when each missed 4 games each at different times, and the drastic negative affect it had to your Ru team , that we will not field that team next year .. Pretty simple if you put the fire Eddie thought aside

This isn't a clear post but going on what I think you're saying: I think there's a chance Corey stays even if Eddie's fired and I think it's likely he leaves after next year no matter what. So I'm willing to see what a coach who can develop a defense and maybe make Corey an even better all around player can do. As for Jonathan, he's a solid player too but where is he going if he transfers? I think a new coach can convince them to stick around. I think 0-18 (if that happens) could lead to an exodus of players more too.

And, in case you try to say I'm attacking you by saying this isn't a clear post, I'm not. I know when you're ready to argue the words don't always come out right. Happens to me all the time.

GoRu7's significant other vehemently defends Mrs. Jordan on the Real House Wives of Potomac fan site. I'm sure of it.

Renew for one more season! Haha.

This is the team that we should be afraid of blowing up next year.

Point: Corey Sanders - Very good player, suspended twice this year - High Level Big 10 Player
2G: Nigel Johnson - I assume he's a good player - Big 10 Player?
Small Foward/Wing Jonathan Laurent - No offensive Skill - Reserve Player on Big 10 Team
Power Foward - DeShaun Freeman - Good, Undersized Player Solid Big 10 Player
Center - Shaq Doorson - No O, limited D - Reserve Big 10 Player limited time on decent teams

Bench
D.J. Foreman - Limited Player - Reserve Big 10 Player Would see little time on decent teams
Mike Williams - Not a good shooter. Plays hard. Reserve BIG 10 Player would see limited time
Diallo - PROJECT - not a good player Lower D1 Player
Goode - D2 Player

Incoming Frosh - All Lightly recruited

Who knows, the best of the bunch is built like a twig.

Only a couple shooters on the team. Scary to think someone wants to stay the course or is afraid of blowing up this team.

Where do you get the information that Corey " likely" stays if Eddie is canned? Why do you think Corey leaves after next year, when if everybody comes back there are no seniors next year and the team would be in position to make their run? Do you think Corey is strong enough for the NBA? Do you think he is better than Melo Trimble? Douby left after 3 years but if I understand your post, you think he leaves after next year no matter what? You mean if we finish 14-16, 6-12 in the Big ten next year, he would bolt somewhere despite the whole team back and having played a whole year together with Nigel, Deshawn, Jon, and Shaquille ! Why?
Jon, is Eddie's recruit. I guess he could stay, but more than likely transfers if Eddie is canned.
The 3 recruits that have verballed and will sign in April will also likely be gone. What players out there is that new coach bringing in?

When's the last time Rutgers had an early entry NBA player? When has someone left early to play overseas professionally.

Not happening people.

Of course. I'm saying when has that happened at Rutgers?

People are making this stuff up with Corey. Right out of thin air. Why? Normal fans would be supporting him and trying to show they want him to stick around.

You obviously have not played a minute of competitive basketball nor do you understand the game. You are a big message board poster that couldn't' make a layup or understand a thing about how a team is made up . Eddie played man , he played zone, he trapped , he played full court press, but with walk ons it doesn't make a difference. The fact you cannot see it , makes you the biggest dummy in the room !!
You know shit about our program. It has been in the crapper for 25 years and you think a coach , any coach you say will change things . Hold that thought next year and the year after without facilities you are not getting any big time coach here. Then you will be back on these boards complaining about the next coach and asking to cut ties or else.
Regarding your statement about losing Corey or Freeman is no big deal, that shows what an absolute mindless unintelligent poster you are.
Congratulations. Did you enjoy insulting me while making yourself look like the most pathetic a$$hole on the BB threads? "You obviously have not played a minute of competitive basketball nor do you understand the game." This is the first moronic thing you stated in your uncalled for vindictive attack on me, even though you don't know who the hell I am. Firstly, not only did I play competitive BB for years, but I also coached competitively for years as well. Secondly, it's obvious it's YOU who doesn't know much about BB. EJ did NOT do the things you mentioned if you really watched the Northwestern game. If you're going to insult my intelligence, try making an intelligent and coherent argument instead of sounding like a little bitch that you are. Thirdly, if you think EJ is suited for the college game, then it's YOU who knows nothing about college BB. EJ can't even teach basic fundamentals, like boxing out, rebounding, passing the ball, breaking a press, making good shot selections.

Again, I don't know who the hell you are and if you're part of EJ's family, then I feel sorry for you, because as far as I'm concerned, EJ has proven over three years that he is NOT a college BB coach and will never be a college BB coach. This garbage we've been watching is as bad as the Littlepage years, and this is pretty darn bad. Oh, and one other thing: you're still a little bitch and you're still wrong. So if I were you, I would get those lips of yours out of EJ's a$$ and start realizing that a new coach will be taking over the program very shortly.

It's like arguing with a 13 year old. The guys reasons for keeping Jordan are ridiculous and when several people give him facts about why he's wrong, he reverts to his childish insults. 'Hopefully he'll get it when Jordan gets fired shortly.

I don't know who the hell this guy is, but it's really getting old fast on these boards. Anyone with half a brain knows that it's time to move on. I agree with what you stated. It's like trying to reason with a child. You can't when he thinks he knows everything even though 99% of us here disagree with his nonsensical logic.

It's really pretty simple. Is Jordan capable of getting Rutgers to become a middle of the pack, competitive Big Ten team? I like Sanders a lot, but the answer to that question is a hard no at this point. There's been very little progress to say otherwise. Might as well start over now instead of prolonging it for another year. If players or recruits leave then so be it -- can sacrifice a class or any players when you're looking to change an entire culture.

Must be a friend of the staff. Nobody without a vested interest would go this far out on a limb for EJ

I never played competitive basketball. Gym class and pickup games after work with other slow IT guys. Been watching BB on TV and in person for over 30 years. With my less than impressive resume, it is my opinion (not fact), that our team's basketball fundamentals suck. My son's middle school team missed fewer layups and free throws. Could set picks, screens, set and break presses. These are 12 and 13 year old children. Children.

Sorry, but if fundamental basketball can't be coached, we are doomed.

Do you honestly think our fundamentals will improve if EJ comes back next year?

opinion=NFW

When's the last time Rutgers had an early entry NBA player? When has someone left early to play overseas professionally.

When was the last time Rutgers had an NBA player....early or otherwise ?
And please don't count Dahntay Jones.
When people tell me our basketball program is a joke....I have no response....can't argue with the truth.

Eddie does not teach rebounding. You cannot go forward with where Rutgers is with Jordan.

Replacements for Eddie should not include retreds(not currently HC ,Ivy Hc's,local lightweight HC's)
HC replacements from Dayton,GW,Memphis and Marquette are what is needed,no more bargin HC's
