His primary recruiter was Fran Brown, and it feels safe to speculate that some combination of Brown leaving Baylor and Hand being from New Jersey played a role in this decision.
There is no spinning this one positively for Baylor—other than that it opens a spot in a full recruiting class, but that’s a small consolation. Hand was a significant contributor and his loss makes Baylor worse than it could have been on defense.

He went with ace recruiter Fran Brown.
Fran Brown is currently the co-DC at Temple. Wonder if Rod Carey keeps.

Also wonder if Ash considered or interviewed him before hiring Baba Booey.

He'll have to. Whoever took the job the AD stipulated Brown would be on staff. Boy that AD with peanuts to work with(well maybe not this time) makes some solid hires. It really shines a light on how truly inept our AD's have been.

What’s the point when you can’t keep them. The only challenge is UCF every year.

What's the point? Through all the turmoil that AD single handily keeps them winning and going to bowls. In the past he's been restricted by money so any P5(well except RU) can swoop in and offer more. Even with the winning Temple just isn't a big draw. I admire his use of limited resources as I can't say the same for our illustrious AD's.

Kraft is a B1G guy, if Ash doesn't turn it around in 2019 both he and Hobbs should be fired and Kraft should be brought in to make the next hire for football and maybe basketball as well. This isn't brain surgery, look at what the man is doing at Temple of all places, basketball team is 13-3 with Dunphy retiring at the end of the year and his replacement ready to go, and what he has done with that football program is amazing given the financial and conference issues he has had to overcome. It is a no brainer IMHO.

Who is Kraft?

When RU tried that after Greg left, didn't we have at least 1 (maybe 2) coaches turn us down because RU stipulated that certain staff members should stay?
