Ugh. I hope I’m wrong but do these clowns ever learn? Everything that you think that should be logical with the Wilpons becomes the illogical. It’s as if they re totally insulated from the world.
Sorry guys it was a BS report from someone from ESPN. Deleting post.
What powerball numbers do you play? I’d like to share in the happiness when illogical decisions are made. Be an early birthday present for me!If it's him I will get behind him until I see reason not to.
That notwithstanding, Bob Nightengale of USA Today is reporting that Perez is the "clear front runner".Sorry guys it was a BS report from someone from ESPN. Deleting post.

Why would anyone care to keep that a secret? Not exactly a "bombshell".Ken Rosenthal Twitter:
Mystery candidate for #Mets’ managerial opening is #Brewers bench coach Pat Murphy, sources tell The Athletic. Has had multiple interviews with club.

Well HE never said anything about a bombshell. Andy Martino should be the target of your curse.Hopes BVW has unlimited diarrhea for 50 years if THIS is his Bombshell Candidate. Not Hinch... Not ARod... Not DWright... Not Jessica Mendoza, No Girardi, No Maddon.
True. I'll give you that. BVW still deserves his own ULD for Cano/Diaz.Well HE never said anything about a bombshell. Andy Martino should be the target of your curse.
Maybe too soon to curse Martino? He says that Murphy is "not the only mystery candidate in the mix".Well HE never said anything about a bombshell. Andy Martino should be the target of your curse.

You are doing it wrong. Doc Gooden or Lenny Dykstra. Too bad Lenny sold his Linden home.If we want a former player, how bout Met fan favorites from the past. Dave Kingman and Ritchie Hebner should be in the final round. Loved by the press and fans alike. What could go wrong?
Those two would certainly keep us on the backpages. You are doing it wrong. Doc Gooden or Lenny Dykstra. Too bad Lenny sold his Linden home.
Let's see if they name a new manager by Christmas.Martino also said the 3rd round of interviews will be starting. We shouldn't expect someone to be named within the next few days.
Thinking about it this way, if you are going for another 1st time manager, why fire MC? I was no fan of MC, but at least he was learning on the job and the guys played hard for him down the stretch. I really wanted a Girardi or a Maddon type who has the experience. If we hire another 1st timer, I think we are disadvantaged by the learning curve again.
I see absolutely no obstacles to this plan!
Newsday reporting that there are at least four finalists, Shelton being the fourth.Mets move on to Phase 3 of the interview process, aka the "Daddy Phase".
To summarize:
Reportedly Beltran, Perez, and Bogar are among the finalists. Rojas is out. No word on the status of the other candidates, mystery or otherwise.
- Phase 1 was Brodie and the Lieutenants (Minaya, Baird, Guttridge)
- Phase 2 was Brodie and Jeffy
- Phase 3 is Daddy Fred! (I assume Brodie and Jeffy will tag along too, but maybe not.)
Can he steal bases? Sick of the home run or nothing offensive attack. To shift gears, good news on Mets top prospect Andres Gimenez. Led the Arizona Fall League in hitting with .371 and in OPS at .999. The AFL is very good competition; good to see him get back on track after a subpar 2019 season.
So, if he continues to progress, Gimenez may become the Mets everyday 2B as soon as 2021, maybe even late 2020. Ever since he was signed at age 16, the Mets have envisioned a dynamic, athletic middle infield combo of Rosario and Gimenez. That may soon be a reality for years to come.
I see absolutely no obstacles to this plan!
He can steal.....he's fast......unless he dramatically improved, I saw him earlier in the year in Trenton and he looked to be a horrible slap hitter with no power...he has speed and good with the gloveCan he steal bases? Sick of the home run or nothing offensive attack.
Gimenez had a .999 OPS in the AFL, which is considered to be between AA and AAA in quality. He can hit. The power is projected to come as he matures. He just turned 21. Keep in mind that playing in AA this year, he was a full four years younger than the league average. He can steal.....he's fast......unless he dramatically improved, I saw him earlier in the year in Trenton and he looked to be a horrible slap hitter with no power...he has speed and good with the glove
Christmas, yes. Halloween, no. Election Day, maybe.Let's see if they name a new manager by Christmas.
Shows a lot more power than Rosario ever did in the minors. But...AR also had a few very high BA seasons and struck out less. This kid is going to ok in the power dept but seriously, I really don't care. It looks like he could have a lot of doubles and SB's at playing 2B. The biggest area I see he needs to improve upon, is if he is going to be a 10HR middle infielder, he can't K 150 times per season. Needs to put the ball into play more often and take some walks. He can steal.....he's fast......unless he dramatically improved, I saw him earlier in the year in Trenton and he looked to be a horrible slap hitter with no power...he has speed and good with the glove
