OT: College Football Playoffs Quarterfinal Games 12/31-1/1 Tues-Weds

The college regular season was that last pure and compelling season where every game mattered and every week was must watch. It is now just pre-season crap for the big programs.

You shouldn't enable and support stupidity.
It’s still must watch and the end of the season has become even more must watch for more teams because so many more games have real implications

March Madness destroyed the college basketball regular season. Most fans only watch the tourney now.
College basketball and pro basketball baseball etc isn’t destroyed by playoffs it’s destroyed because there are a ton of regular season games.

Football regardless of playoff expansion is just 12 so with such a small finite number of regular season games they will always have big weight because there are so few. Playoff expansion doesn’t affect that.

Amazing performance but likely too slow for NFL. Explains why he was at FCS Sacramento State.
Oh they will over look him Sadly, he doesn't look the part.

Another Keith Elias, just bigger and stronger. That said there are always a ton of backs.

1. Get off my damn lawn
2. I love football and normally want as much of it as possible
3. At least half of this year's CFP teams had absolutely zero chance of winning the NC, so what's the point?

Enjoy the game. Got some research to do on Freddie and Fannie. :)

And in the old system #4 beats #1, they happen to be 1-1 head to head and #1 still has a better record did #1 deserve to advance? Did they advance?

What about March Madness?
Didn't LSU beat Bama one year when it was just the top 2 teams, and the selection committee decided on a rematch and Bama took them behind the woodshed?

OSU's WRs are NFL level.
They have been for some years. I don’t know why Day wanted to get away from using them in place of being big tough Michigan. Get Michigan out of your head and play to your strengths. They were on the verge of taking out a damn good UGA team the year they destroyed TCU.

When they changed MO, I said I like the matchup better for us that year and sure enough we played them close and even had a lead late. Throwing it around and using tempo here and there is what their MO should be and run it as needed. The pass to open up the run instead of vice versa imo.

Is that just when they went to 64 or did no one watch when only the Conference tournament champs went? And talk about making no sense, you could go undefeated during the regular season and if you lost in your conference tournament you didn't make the NCAA's.

Winning the NC isn’t the only point. There are just about 5-6 with real chances. But that’s even more than recent past.

Getting there and/or winning a game or two is good accomplishment for a bunch of programs and they should have that opportunity.

It’s okay you can be a purist just like not believing in the TA voodoo in the stock market lol 😉

The ACC Tourney those years was amazing. And the Ivies, with no tourney but both Penn and Princeton Top 15 teams made their games against each other high intensity

Class move by Deion. Still think what Dillingham has done is much more impressive than what Deion has done, especially considering that Dillingham is only 34 and a nobody 2 years ago in the college football landscape. Deion has leveraged his celebrity and brand to bring a lot of attention and money to Colorado. Dillingham built ASU from scratch and the wreckage left by Coach Herm.

Are you kidding? That was BS floated by the $$$ loving bowl game people. Having polls and the computers determine who had the best team is a joke. There should have been a national playoff implemented decades ago. Way back, state newspapers used to declare their state universities national champions . Alabama claims multiple NCs prior to the national AP poll (established by sportswriters in the 1930s.). There is much more national interest regarding the regular season with the expanded playoff. Stop yearning for the past, it wasn’t so great.

Unfortunate for Oregon to run into this buzz saw as the 1 seed. Hope OSU takes out Texas next, although they get to play essentially at home in the Cotton Bowl.

The playoffs are over. OSU is going to roll everyone.
If they play like this, yea but game to game who knows what team shows up. They lost to Michigan lol. Keep throwing the ball to generate and create instead of trying to be be like Michigan and they look dominating.
