+1Rumors that the Phillies are willing to listen to offers for Zack Wheeler.
Sounds like the Phillies are financially hurting.

Perfect. Send Nido for Wheeler 🤣🤣🤣Rumors that the Phillies are willing to listen to offers for Zack Wheeler.
George Costanza: Mr Cohen, I figured out a way how we can get Harper and Wheeler and it won’t cost us anything.+1

Wheelers stats are comparable to Bauer over the past 3 seasons. And he isn't a raging a-hole either. :)Perfect. Send Nido for Wheeler 🤣🤣🤣
Jk jk jk.
To bad Cohen didn't buy the Mets last year. Wheeler would still be a MetWheelers stats are comparable to Bauer over the past 3 seasons. And he isn't a raging a-hole either. :)
What b-level free agents?+1
Mets seems to be focusing on the b-level free agents.
What you are missing is that I have no problem going out and upgrading our backup catcher but it is such a low priority and I just pointed out your options don’t make much sense. You should be Nido’s agent. Lol.
To your points:
1. Will happen because of COVID Financially depressed market. Revenues go down - so do free agent salaries for non critical / essential players like a back up catcher.
2/3. Both Degrom and Noah did not like pitching to Ramos. If both are in sync with McCann, you won’t hear a peep about them wanting to pitch to Nido. It wasn’t about Nido - it was about Ramos.
4. Never said that. And to say he did well last year was because he was only up 24 times. Lol. That’s not a relevant sample size.
Summary and Closing Argument : Mets need to sign another back up catcher with experience who they will sign at a low salary to compete against Nido. Every metric and every eye test shows Nido to be below par for a back up catcher. You can’t win with a catcher who hits .197 with no pop and can be thrust into the starting lineup should an injury occur.
Im sure we’ll keep track of this during the season in 2021 and now lets root for Springer,Bauer etc.
I assume he is talking about May. Though his Yankees could have used a few more B levels like that last yearWhat b-level free agents?
Also McCann (B) vs Realmuto (A).I assume he is talking about May. Though his Yankees could have used a few more B levels like that last year
Or maybe they don’t want a long term 6-7 year deal over $20mil per year for a catcher. Also McCann (B) vs Realmuto (A).
It’s irrelevant whether upgrading at backup catcher is high or low priority. It’s a cheap cheap upgrade and a necessary one. Nice debate! What you are missing is that I have no problem going out and upgrading our backup catcher but it is such a low priority and I just pointed out your options don’t make much sense.
as for boldest 4- how can you say you didn’t say something when it is in writing?
as for Noah and deGrom...If those two guys are comfortable pitching to Nido, even if McCan is light years better than Ramos, then I am ok with Nido no matter what he hits. Again, would be great to get another guy they like too but it just makes it such a low priority if I get a McCan or a Realmuto
It actually is low, hopefully cheap and a good fun debate. Better than feeding the 3 Amigo trolls. lolIt’s irrelevant whether upgrading at backup catcher is high or low priority. It’s a cheap cheap upgrade and a necessary one. Nice debate!
Bullshit rumor. Shot down yesterday by the Phillies.Rumors that the Phillies are willing to listen to offers for Zack Wheeler.

Old news. We knew this right after the WS. The question is if they are forced back to regional scheduling than I'm sure it would be back.
As an American League fan I can tell you that there's nothing more ridiculous than pitchers batting.

Eliminated as a carryover rule change in late October. And yet the league just sent a letter last week.

Report: The designated hitter will only be used in the American League in 2021
Get ready to watch pitchers hit again in 2021.www.google.com
Almost the same except that Hockey didn't start out with a shootout and or a Goalie being a part of it. Baseball started with 9 players on the field and the same 9 players hitting. Rules changed for one league and not the other...So- not really in the same conversation...As an American League fan I can tell you that there's nothing more ridiculous than pitchers batting.
The only thing funnier would be having a goalie as one of your five shooters in an NHL shootout.
I suspect this is the truth...There really is no reason for not having it anymore. I am guessing most NL fans like myself actually enjoyed it last yearTwo words: negotiation tactic.
The MLBPA wants the universal DH. MLB is sending the clear signal that the MLBPA is not going to get it for free. The quid pro quo is expanded playoffs.
Wasn't the DH brought into the American League because it had an abundance of aging, over the hill stars, and the National League, had an exciting brand of stars and was out drawing the American League by a huge margin? Sorry, the DH blows, you might as well add a 10th fielder like a Men's Softball League! As an American League fan I can tell you that there's nothing more ridiculous than pitchers batting.

100% agree with thisFor us Met fans- I keep going back to T Bauer and what he may command. I really have to ask myself this if I am Sandy or Cohen...Is he the pitcher that prior to the shortened 2020 season only had one season under a 4.18 era? Or is he all of a sudden with 11 starts a top 10 pitcher who is a must get?
I almost feel I try the Kluber/Tanaka/PAxton type of route instead of dropping $25+ on Bauer. Go less on one of these other guys with less years, extend deGrom with some extra cash and start locking up Noah, Conforto, McNeil, etc...give Lugo a bump too as he has earned every dollar and more and at some point someone is going to offer the guy starting $$$
Who is Mansfield?
I became a supporter of the DH about 5 years ago. Too much risk having your big time pitchers get hurt running the bases or swinging the bat.I suspect this is the truth...There really is no reason for not having it anymore. I am guessing most NL fans like myself actually enjoyed it last year
A related topic is roster size. 28 or 26? Obviously the union wants 28. Will they consent to playoff expansion in order to get it?Two words: negotiation tactic.

I thought the Yankees were in the running for Realmuto while still attempting to re-sign LeMahieu?
I haven't heard that they even talked to his agent. Never heard them seriously in the mix. McCann seems to be on everyone's radar along with Molina.I thought the Yankees were in the running for Realmuto while still attempting to re-sign LeMahieu?
Andy Martino added that he too is just about ready to bet Olney's farm.Interesting take by Buster Olney...
