Thought the same. She looked pissed and rolled her eyes a few times. Buck looks like he is eternally grumpy. Can’t imagine those two are the life of any party. My son and I had a bet as to whether either of them would smile during the entire interview…they both finally did. Zero personality between the two of them.Lol, I watched the news conference today, and my wife and I were laughing at Mrs. Showalter. She looked like that was the last place she wanted to be. Actually, I get that. The Mets could have had her introduce herself to the media and Mets fans, and then went shopping with Buck's new paycheck!!!
Was listening to Buck with Roberts and Carton, and he struck me as a guy who loved to talk, which was pretty much the exact opposite of what I had him pegged as.Thought the same. Disagree, saw her interviewed on SNY and seemed nice. She gets involved with the family’s of the players and staff to help make things like travel etc easier. She has been through it all. People just look for stuff to bitch about.Lol just saw her on the news looks like a real miserab
I don’t know what you saw but they showed her on the news with buck getting interviewed and she didn’t crack a smile. MiserabDisagree, saw her interviewed on SNY and seemed nice. I watched the presser where she sat and wasn’t asked a single question. Then after that the SNY studio had them on and actually asked her a question and she was very personable.I don’t know what you saw but they showed her on the news with buck getting interviewed and she didn’t crack a smile. Well, I was only talking about what I saw on SNY, so clearly, you also saw a difference so don't say people only look for stuff to bitch about. It wasn't a good 1st impression is all I was saying.I watched the presser where she sat and wasn’t asked a single question. She did look like she had a stick up her a$$ lolWell, I was only talking about what I saw on SNY, so clearly, you also saw a difference so don't say people only look for stuff to bitch about. It wasn't a good 1st impression is all I was saying.
Didn’t even see your initial post or was I responding to you, but I had no issues with her and heard about how much she helps players families. ClassyWell, I was only talking about what I saw on SNY, so clearly, you also saw a difference so don't say people only look for stuff to bitch about. I saw Buck and his wife on the MLB network later in the evening and I thought she looked pretty uncomfortable as well. She did look like she had a stick up her a$$ lol
This. If you haven’t seen that follow-up SNY interview, that should put those comments to rest.Didn’t even see your initial post or was I responding to you, but I had no issues with her and heard about how much she helps players families. Classy
Perhaps at the direction of Mets unofficial POBO, Francisco Lindor?
This is going to bite us. Hopefully they get good value in return because I think McNeil has a nice bounce back coming in 2022.
You may be right. But when you've got a potential Hall of Famer ready to join you, someone whom we've been waiting for all year, you just have to make room for him. This is going to bite us. Hopefully they get good value in return because I think McNeil has a nice bounce back coming in 2022.
McNeil had one off year. I know you don't believe what you just said. The problem starts with management more so than the players. You need the right person to pick the right buttons. Rojas wasn't it and Keith was Mickey or Sandy or BVW. All were either green or past the expiration date.I like McNeil but after the past few years of underachieving it’s time to get rid of these type of underachieving players: MCNeil / Conforto / Noah / Dom Smith / JD Davis etc. Culture changes are important. Somewhat contradictory however is I’d prefer to keep Dom because he’s fairly young and can DH and back up Alonso etc and I think he ll still have trade value for 2023.
Also no secret that we need pitching so have to trade value to get value back.
Very valid points. Then maybe with McNeil it’s you have to trade value to get value or Lindor influence - especially with “ Where you have gone Mr Robinson “ coming back. I’ll be sad when and if Jeff is traded as he’s a favorite of mine and most Met fans.McNeil had one off year. I know you don't believe what you just said. The problem starts with management more so than the players. You need the right person to pick the right buttons. Rojas wasn't it and Keith was Mickey or Sandy or BVW. Contractually, if yoh refuse to comply with a consistent directive isn’t it grounds for firing? This story suggests the McNeil was somewhat of a toxic clubhouse presence. As in he flat out refused to play where he was supposed to in the Mets shift alignments. Which eventually led to the Lindor dust up.
I am sure that in his MLB Network role, Buck Showalter knew the rumors and whether there was anything to them. And he damn well isn't going to tolerate insubordination. Wouldn't be surprised if this was a topic of discussion in the interview process.

You could make that case, however, McNeil does have trade value and it would be unwise for the Mets to release him.Contractually, if yoh refuse to comply with a consistent directive isn’t it grounds for firing?
Let’s play the Diaz thing out. If you trade him do you make Lugo the closer?Totally cool with trading McNeil but you have to get rid of Smith and Davis too. I really want to get rid of Diaz but I know that won’t happen.
That’s the problem..last year, I would have said yes, but Lugo has clearly lost something. They would need another closer. Just can’t stand Diaz.Let’s play the Diaz thing out. If you trade him do you make Lugo the closer?
And there in lies the problem. Plus, you know how it is…no Francos, Wagners, Hoffman, Rivieras out there for long term stability. That’s the problem..last year, I would have said yes, but Lugo has clearly lost something. They would need another closer. Just can’t stand Diaz.
Why do you have to get rid of Smith and Davis too? No one has reported that they have been insubordinate.Totally cool with trading McNeil but you have to get rid of Smith and Davis too. I really want to get rid of Diaz but I know that won’t happen.
Smith smuh. Why do you have to get rid of Smith and Davis too? No one has reported that they have been insubordinate.
Smith is also a good hitter as a DH with a better glove at first. Can play OF as well.Smith smuh.
Davis a good platoon DH. Maybe.
I have as much chance of making the HOF as Cano does. You may be right. But when you've got a potential Hall of Famer ready to join you, someone whom we've been waiting for all year, you just have to make room for him.
Welcome back, Robinson Cano.
I’m willing to see what Cano has left as a platoon DH. But he should rarely see the field. Same with Davis.I have as much chance of making the HOF as Cano does.
Can’t wait to see how many weak grounders to 2nd base he can hit this year. If they bat him 9th at least they will probably be one out instead of DPs.I have as much chance of making the HOF as Cano does.
