Those calling for Flood's head need perspective

True, but I'm sure Flood and the staff are responsible for the kids in the Hale Center before and after games. Its the same scenario last year at Sayreville. The coach has to be responsible for the kids in the locker room. This is no different, in my opinion.

As I said in another thread, what happens at the Hale Center is probably not what we would consider to be "off-the-field".

If it is true that Carroo was defending someone in his family then screw all of you phonies who are preaching he should have known better! I would hope and expect each and everyone of you would do the same. Maybe it's not that Carroo has no self control but rather some of the above have no sack! If he was defending his family he should not even be suspended. As far as Coach Flood, he teaches these young boys how to become men and a man defends his family! There is no fault on the part of the coach. For those of you who are embarrassed by this need to find another RU activity to take up your time.

11 SEC teams on the list I believe. Washington State number 1. Are people calling for Mike Leach to be fired?

Is a 21 year old man a kid? At what point is a man that is about to graduate college accountable for his own actions? Are Flood and the coaches supposed to personally escort each player out of the building?

Even if you add 7 to this to account for this year, that puts us in the middle of the pack for division 1 college football. So rather than deal in these nauseating, abstract cliches like "lost control of the locker room" let's deal in actual facts and hard numbers. It's very easy to fall victim to a recency bias, but when you actually decide to be a little analytical for a second and digest some context for the situation, you realize that if you're calling for Flood's head, you better be calling for 40 other coaches' heads as well.

Chances are, we're under greater media scrutiny than any other football program. And subject to greater negativity by the media.

North Carolina is a good example. Subject to a HUGE athletic department scandal, about half the media reporting, in light of this scandal, has been supportive of their programs. If there has been any recent positive media reporting of RU's athletic programs (high academic average, etc.), I haven't seen it.

If my mom or my sister or my wife or kids are standing outside the building that I'm in and I hear they're in a fight, there's no way in hell that I'm staying in that building and waiting for the results. I'm going out there to hopefully diffuse the situation even if it means getting myself in the middle of the argument / fight. Now I know my wife and kids can handle themselves, due to their Brazilian jiu-jitsu backgrounds...but street fighting is not always going to be one-on-one. Regardless, there's now way I sit back inside and wait to then potentially find out that 3 people jumped on top of them and beat the hell out of them while I'm being told don't go out there.

Just curious, if your daughter got into a fight with Caroo's girlfriend and the 6'2 200 pound Caroo came out and knocked the sh!t out of her, would you still feel the same way?

Dumb post. Being on that list is not good.

Given that's probably not what happened, I'll take that with a grain of salt, cool story though.

Not sure anyone of us knows what happened....but, I'd also say if I were in the locker room and heard a family member was in a fight...I would not just sit and wait to find out what happened. If it were another girl fighting with my wife or daughter, If I was unable to break it up, I'd watch and make sure it stayed fair. If it was a complete mismatch, i.e. someone beating an old lady, damn right I'd step in.

That's my point, we really don't know what happened. My other point is, if it really was a girl fight, how hard would it be for Caroo to simply break it up and walk away with his friends and/or family. I seriously doubt that Caroo needs to throw punches to break up a girl fight.

...but taking that same perspective...if Caroo did not know what was happening with his mom, sister, etc. He, as would I, would not sit inside until someone told him exactly what was happening. You assume the worst and go try to help your own family. Unfortunately, doing so also leaves you open to getting sucked into the issue.

I'm with you, I wouldn't sit still, BUT....there is a difference between going out there to try to help, by pulling your family member(s) out of there, and getting in the middle of it and, apparently, throwing punches at a female (or females, I don't know...). Agree?

That I agree on...not sure if that's what happened...but I sure hope not.

If flood was winning , most of us real football fans could live with what's gone on . It's all about winning here .
But he doesn't win enough and the program is a mess . There is no reason to keep him at this juncture unless you want him to coach the penn state game . If he loses on Saturday , he should be dismissed Sunday . But I am fine cutting bait today , just that I don't think this university will hire the right guy
You weren't happy with last year's results when we had the toughest B1G schedule? Or did you mean he didn't win enough this year? Don't answer me because I'm putting you on ignor as I have ~10 others in this thread.

Because it is NJ and not FL or Bama the above stats of the top 25 arrest schools don't matter. We hold ourselves to a higher level because we want scholar athletes.

Many NJ residents / tax payers are relatively passive when it comes to Rutgers. They want Rutgers to be highly esteemed but they don't want their tax dollars to go to the school and many prefer to send their kids out of state.

Rutgers has a perception issue before these incidents and now it is worse.

You went the wrong way here. If it were my daughter that would be MY family and I would see that he promptly got the shit kicked out of him. And a girlfriend isn't family and I seriously doubt Carroo pounded the shit out of any girl. So your question isn't real. Oh yeah, by the way I said he has the right to defend his family not kick the shit out of a girl.

i have no issue with anyone defending family. but, life is about choices and consequences.

Some of the people representing themselves as Rutgers fans
in these threads are real assholes.

Not really, as much as Pollyanna posters think Rutgers is better than other schools, it really isn't. It's called pennstateitis.

I don't think any of this crap is Flood's fault. The only reason he should be on the hot seat is from the game results.

How many other schools has 7 arrests for violent crimes including hitting women and invading student homes at gunpoint in two weeks? My guess is not many

I don't care what other schools do. I care what RU does.

Flood has no control on or off the field, not sure what the counterpoint is but it can't be other schools has more arrests for weed or something unrelated.
