The excitement is now building towards 8pm , for one of the most important moments in time for Rutgers Athletics !!. At approximately 8pm, Nick Suriano attempts to become Rutger's first National Champion in Wrestling. I am not sure what other individual Rutgers athletes can claim an individual championship. This moment for RU Wrestling fans , is of Epic Importance ! A win won't only give Rutgers it's first NCAA champion, but will probably guarantee a top 10 finish for Rutgers ! This, after finishing 11th in the Big10s, and being ranked approx 18 by most of the ranking services.

Retherford at 149 seems to be the only lock, the rest are up for grabs. Does this look about right to you wrestling guys?

I'm trying to figure out how osu can realistically beat psu.
Only championship bouts tonight? 4 team points for winning tonight + pin is 2 extra points and tech +1.5 and major +1?
Not including much bonus points but I'm guessing if OSU could stay within 1 of the PSU individual wins tonight, OSU has a good chance at team title.?

If Imar pins his guy and Suriano wins, I think we retain a lead over Illinois. Of course if Suriano pins his guy or wins by tech, I think it doesn't matter what Imar does. Not sure about the scoring at this juncture, so perhaps someone can fill that in for us.

Agreed, the major thing is a Nick WIN, don't really care about anything else, I think 1st place gets 4 points and a possible 2 more for Fall, 1.5 more for TF and 1 more for major

What a joke of an excuse. In 6 matches Cruz averaged just 3 pts. per match. So I guess the entire field slowed him down. That translates to Cruz wasn't very offensive this entire tournament.

30 minutes away from the biggest individual match in RU Wrestling history ! I'm nervous, I'm sure most of us are nervous. Can you imagine how the coaches feel? How Suriano's parents feel? How Nick himself feels ? Wow. I used to throw up before high school football games, lol, I can't imagine what these guys wrestling tonight go through.
