or at least suspended....... Don't care what (if anything) the ChiState player may have said.... A paid coach in a position of power can't act this way to an unpaid (and largely powerless) player ON ANOTHER TEAM -- especially when he's literally trying to in-bounds.....

JMO.......

Yeah that's unprofessional and immature of the coach. How can his players take him seriously about staying focused and disciplined when he's doing that? That's the type of thing that if his player did he would get reamed out for. Not a good look

Strange headline when the video and commentary says the player said something 1st to the Depaul coach. Depending on what the player may have said may matter, definitely a misleading comment on Leiteo.

A bad look but not fireable. Mick Cronin with JP Macura was much worse than that.

Fired? What is the kid called the coach a “dick sucker”? Need a little context here before you go assuming that someone should be fired. I have a funny feeling the kid deserved being spoken to as such.

oh, he's a real man.........

I stand by my initial point... no matter what was said or how much it offended you... you don't "lean in" to some kid to prove how tough you are or to take that moment to show how you can provide life-lessons to some player who isn't on your team.........

you're the friggin' coach, your team has already won the game... you're a grown man... ... You don't get to hold some private conversation while the game is in play to prove what a big man you are....

sure "firing" is probably a bit much (though this guy has a bit of a history).... but, suspension is absolutely needed (even if 1 game)......

Sorry but I disagree. You stick up for the people on your bench. You don't grab the kid, you don't yell at the kid - for sure - but who cares if he "lean(ed) in" and there's no way in hell he should be "fired" for that IMHO (unless of course, it is part of a trend....).

Anyone know what the player said?
Until I do, I'll say the coach should have shown more discipline and deserves to be suspended a couple of games.
If he was maligned , then 1 game because of his unprofessional behavior that put the team and school in a bad light.

If the player said something bad enough to get him kicked out of the game, at least a one game suspension should be given him by Chi St's coach.
It looked like the Chi St coach was thrown out defending his player, that should be enough punishment for him. Unless he mouthed off something bad and his school should sit him down for being unprofessional.

Tough to hold your team to a certain level of discipline when you’re the head coach acting like that

Wow. So many questions including why weren't the DePaul walk-ons in the game? DePaul was up by 34 points with less than a minute to play.

I mean, why wasn't this kid in the game

I went to a few DePaul games last year and Xidias is by far one of the best parts of the game experience; even when watching on TV I keep an eye out for him. Big time fan favorite. Good for him; had a dream of playing D1 hoops and he’s making an experience of it.

More damning for Leitao was the 15 pt lead he gave away to NW last weekend.

Too bad the kid inbounding the ball didn't bounce it off the noggin of the coach who clearly was partially on the court

I don't know about that. He looked like he was still been in the Coach's Box.

What I really disliked was that at the end of the clip, coach and a DeP player seemed to think it was a funny, cool thing to do. Not. The coach is not one of the Boys.
