OT: Major Winter Storm for Philly-NJ-NYC Area (12-24" very likely) for late Sun (1/31) into Tues (2/2)

Channel 7 said 17.0 inches in Somerset with over 2 feet in Chester with at least 6-8 more so some areas going to end up with 30+ inches of snow
Just got done of round 1 with the snow blower. Princeton we are slightly over a foot. Drifts probably around 16-24 inches.

No, thanks, and it's kind of funny though, because a few hours ago, I saw this other very similar site from the NWS for the first time on 33andrain and bookmarked it. The reports look identical, so I'm guessing they use the same database. They're both very cool. Bookmarked...@RU848789

Snow plowed about 10 inches here in Franklin lakes between noon-2pm...So happy to have finally gotten a snowblower this year. Bad back and this new driveway has about 120 ft on a 30% grade.
Just got in from walking the dogs...My GS who is about 100lbs, had a hard time walking to his spot through the yard. it was coming about halfway up his chest. Would put it somewhere in the 16-18 inch mark at this point, maybe more. Had to go back out and shovel him a path in the back yard and a walk circle so he can go to the bathroom later.
Doesn't look to be slowing down yet either. Looks like at least 24 inches when all is said and done.

the threat of snow or snizzle will remain for the next 24 hours but it will not be snowing all the time and there really isnt any confidence of who gets more snow and if an extra 3-6 inches does fall in some spots
So 6ABC Philly radar is showing next to nothing from the AC Expressway and South from Philly. Is that the end for that area? As far a accumulation? They say the Low driving this system is stalled off AC but running out of steam. Still another day of snow showers.

HRRR still has most of E-PA/CNJ N of 276/195 getting 4-6" more through late evening (HRRR did well with showing the sleet that other models missed) and 2-4" south of there down through Philly over to LBI. Key question is whether we get that precip or the dreaded dry slot and if the rest of the precip will be snow, assuming we get it.

Just got in from shoveling #3. As of 5 pm in Metuchen, it's 31F and there was about 1.5" on the board, since 1 pm when I cleared it and I double checked depths (in about a dozen spots with ranges from 13-17", not including drifts - have some 2-foot drifts) and they generally increased about 1-2" or so, so that brings my total to 15.0". Pretty damn good for me, although we're missing out on all that snow to the north and the west and SW. But we did better than folks to the SW and some to our W, so not going to complain too much. Just would've been cool to see those 2" per hour rates for more than 2-3 hours. Still not confident in getting the 4-7" the NWS "promised" me at 4 pm, lol. I'll be surprised if we get more than another 2" here - very doable to get 4-6" more where those bands are out west.
North East Philly which is 15 miles from Center City. South of Bensalem. But it will be very interesting when the numbers come in. Hearing that just a few miles north of Center City they were getting snow when we were getting nothing or just the smallest sleet I've ever seen. . Im less than a mile from Citizens Bank Park. Philly is not only a city but a county. Its huge.
Yeah, I mean how can we get accumulating snow when all that’s happening (I’m in Bridgewater) is sleet?! Perhaps the snow bands pivot back to the east from PA with the wraparound?
Chester had 24.8 inches about 90 mins before the Mendham report and it is snowing heavy there so I guess they might be at 27 or more too.
bust in south jersey officially cancelled. Got a good 5 inches between 3-6pm. That probably puts us around 8 total. Still coming down, albeit much lighter now

Still snowing here in R ville. This storm showed me something. It had moxey. Left for dead at 2PM it got off the canvas and dropped another buncha inches on us. Impressive.
And the beauty of it is you don't have to shovel for one second! I'm jealous. Go hit some drives out of the parking lot.
its a public report so take it with a grain of salt...with alot of blowing and drifting its hard to get an accurate readings, always go with the trained spotters or cocorohas

Of note: EWR 11.7", Central Park with 13.3", LGA 11.0", and JFK 9.1" - but all of these are from 12:51 pm, meaning several more inches likely fell for each (they report every 6 hours). And keep that time stamp in mind, as any reports below from before about 2-3 pm are suspect, especially the ones from the morning. Tons of on-line reports of 20-25", but Jeff Smith did say the Mendham 27" report is the highest, so far.
