the weenies on the 33 board are still clinging to widespread 4-8 inches tomorrow. NAM has 5.4 for me..how will that happen...i havent even had proper snow without mixing for 8 hours..its been all mixed bag of lighter stuff probably accumulatd an inch of gunk in that time

You must be fairly close to me. I'm in Franklin Lakes and 20 or so sounds about right. I went out at noon and again about 8ish this evening and hopefully not to much left in the morning when we have to get out of the house.
It's funny- I have been doing driveways for about 50 years but my Jamaican wife always argues the mult times vs waiting until it has all fallen. Though, it is my back doing the work. No way in hell I am going out to shovel or plow 20 inches in one shot...much easier to go out 3 times.
This year I also went out and got an Ariens Deluxe 28 - 2 stage...It had a lot of good reviews, I am not quite sure yet but for the money- got it during the summer at about $850...it is much better than the shovel. Very easy to use but not that good on a steep grade or pushing through the end of the driveway. Does the job though.
Of course- it adds to my wife's argument to just wait until it stops snowing...she thinks plowing 24 inches of snow is no different than plowing 6-8 inches at a time...Oh well. For next storm though, need googles and a face cover- wind swirls too much here...

@bac2therac what's the difference between public and trained spotter? Is public literally just some random person calling it in?
Last post of the night on the storm. As of midnight, we now have 16.5", as we got another 1/2" over the last 3 hours. Radar has quieted down, although models are still showing several more inches of snow being possible through tomorrow. We'll see.
But look at the numbers you just posted. There is nothing from Hunterdon County although that is part of Mount Holly's area, It's especially strange because Hunterdon County was included in prior reports. I wonder what's going on,or if it's just a matter of not having any new reports from Hunterdon after the mid-afternoon.
Up early ready to plow some lots. Looks like we got another inch overnight in Hillsborough. I gave up measuring.
Up here on Schooleys Mountain in Morris county.. got another 5-6" overnight from Midnight until now. That was on top of the official 26" they were stating for this area as of last night 9 PM. Still below 30 degrees here so never turned over to sleet or rain. The snow now just about reaches up to the bottom of the table on the patio. Still coming down pretty good right now but radar looks like it is finally starting to break up out here and will be ending soon

My neighbor must be drunk. I measured 5 spots this morning and got between 6.5 and 8 every time.
I'd say we got about a total of around 10" in the Hamilton/Robbinsville area. It is still snowing out too. Coming down real light and fine. Snowplow just came down my street and knocked my neighbors mailbox off. Sucks
there will be scattered areas of snow periodically throughout the day, not everyone will get it but additional accumulations of a couple inches are possible.
Congrats to RU#’s for predicting this storm and it outperforming the predictions...for the most part. I can’t wait for the next storm prediction!

I saw lots of cars in OC yesterday that were 3-4 feet deep in water. Most likely people who recently moved here or aren't used to winter storms and where it floods. Everyone who lives here knows the streets to avoid or where not to leave your cars during a storm.

Another storm, another complete whiff for Philadelphia. People in media and the NWS can never get Philly correct. Always overstated. Glad we are nowhere near the forecast. I hate shoveling.

Man Found Buried Beneath Snow in Lincoln Park Dies
NEWARK, NJ — A man who was discovered by several individuals today buried beneath the snow at a downtown Newark park has died.
Even though we're within a mile of each other, I think I got a bit more snow than you, based on your observations yesterday. I noticed that I seemed to have more than the observations you had mentioned throughout the day.
My snow blower has a 24" vertical auger housing and, at the lowest points I encountered yesterday when doing walks and a couple lanes of the driveway, the snow was about 3-4" lower than the top of housing. Where snow had clearly drifted, it was higher than the housing. I realize drifting makes it very hard to gauge all this.
Anyway, I'm about to head out to do a complete clearing. But it looks like to me like at least 20" inches and possibly more than that.
