So glad I'm able to WFH since this Pandemic started.

I have no interest in digging out of this.
That is a dusting compared to what is going on in Morris county . I have 49 " of snow on my balcony. Yes some is from drifting but a few feet isn't . I opened my balcony door and got out the tape measure and CRAP 49 " against the door , AND it's still snowing.

My daughter who lives a few miles north of the booming metropolis of East Stroudsburg reports 16” on the ground

Bastard. Was stacking some snow on a lot and musta pinched hydraulic hose. You know you're in trouble when the snow turns blue. Got that fixed in an hour and back to work.

NWS just updated all their warnings/advisories (edited to make it legible). Wish they would've put together a map of snowfall still to come, but this says it in text form, but they did at least update the overall event map, so if you know what you have, you can see what they think is coming, by difference. 4-7" more for all of CNJ. Not sure I'm buying it, but we'll see. Would also be nice for all the snow weenies in the Philly/SNJ/Trenton areas who have gotten shafted so far get at least some more.

4-7" more for Hunterdon-Somerset-Middlesex-Western Monmouth-Mercer-Western Montgomery-Eastern Montgomery-Upper Bucks-Lower Bucks

4-8" more fo Berks-Delaware-Philadelphia-Western Chester-Eastern Chester

7-10" more for Sussex-Warren-Morris-Carbon-Monroe-Lehigh-Northampton

3-5" more for Eastern Monmouth-Ocean-Southeastern Burlington

3-6" more for New Castle-Salem-Gloucester-Camden-Northwestern Burlington

Not sure I believe this one either, although 1/4" per hour for 12 hours is 3 more inches through 7 am (snow beyond 7 am tomorrow is much less likely) but this is from the NWS-Philly for snow from 7 pm tonight through 7 pm Tuesday. 4-6" more would get me to my 19" forecast.

It better start soon here to get measurable snow. Nothing now and radar shoes nothing South and West. Even Allentown is getting a dry slot.

Is it fair to measure the height of accumulation on a patio table? That's not really subject to drifts (but snow can get blown off), so wouldn't it be fairly accurate to obtain a conservative estimate?

Still snowing here in R ville. This storm showed me something. It had moxey. Left for dead at 2PM it got off the canvas and dropped another buncha inches on us. Impressive.
Yup Im glad we got the little extra. Im very close to Robinsville off of George Dye. Still underperformed IMO but thats ok. The rest of the state got pounded. I'll do another pass with the snow blower tomorrow if needed.

The trained spotter in Eatontown needs some more training. I stuck a yardstick on my patio table, and it was 13" before it started sleeting early this afternoon. The spotter said 8.7 at 2:45.

A trained spotter has my town in PA at 24” at 700PM.

It’s been an amazing afternoon and evening since at noon we didn’t have anything close to the numbers people were throwing around for north Jersey.

There was a snow weenie in Feasterville Bucks County. Was always way more than the surrounding measurements. Found out late 2019 she was dropped. A customer of mine was her neighbor. Weather wasn't her only problem in life. Confirmed later by my Philly in Blue friends. She didn't even live in Feasterville. She worked there. Many times she would makeup her info and send it in from the Parkwood section of NE Philly.
My friend lives in Eatontown and he agrees with your number. He is just East of Monmouth Park

Has it's pros and cons. I've got the EGO snowblower that came out a few years ago.

Overall, it's done well by me - throws the snow well enough, generally has enough juice to do a ~4500 sq ft driveway with 5-6" of snow in one charge, and is fairly compact for stowing in the garage. Also don't need to worry about having gas on hand for it.

On the flip side, it's not self-propelled, and it's got hard rubber blades (so it doesn't cut through packed ice at the end of the driveway very well). And if power goes out in the storm, you won't be able to recharge it without a generator.

There now seems to be a beefier 2-stage Ego snowblower that is self propelled and has steel blades, which would address the cons, but don't know what it's battery life is like compared to the smaller model. Had that been available a few years back, I'd probably have gone for that one.
Exactly what I'm looking at. I have gas at the house for the generator anyhow, but I don't want to fuss with carburetors. So you wouldn't go with the single stage again?

We lost power for about an hour in Princeton. Thankfully have a generator. Good luck to everyone on here. Hopefully you all stay powered up and warm for the remainder of this nor’easter

There might have been about 10-11 inches this morning in SB and then went out again to reopen the drive late afternoon and there might have been another 1.-1.5 inch. It was more sleet than snow after the morning. Now I see another dusting. Unless it really picks up overnight I can't imagine it will be more than a couple of inches extra at most by morning. Might have to open up the drive one last time if the plows come by again. Didn't want it to freeze overnight especially with the sleet and rain mixed in so that's why I did the second round or might have just left it til tomorrow.

Some of the numbers I've seen for Old Bridge - South River - Sayreville areas don't make sense, I got 18" where I live and they're telling us 11-12".

Denville near the tourne we have had 24 inches and another two has come down since I last shoveled.
Have you heard of any power outages in Denville? My MIL lives there - she's ok now but we're concerned about the winds.

Just got in from shoveling #3. As of 5 pm in Metuchen, it's 31F and there was about 1.5" on the board, since 1 pm when I cleared it and I double checked depths (in about a dozen spots with ranges from 13-17", not including drifts - have some 2-foot drifts) and they generally increased about 1-2" or so, so that brings my total to 15.0". Pretty damn good for me, although we're missing out on all that snow to the north and the west and SW. But we did better than folks to the SW and some to our W, so not going to complain too much. Just would've been cool to see those 2" per hour rates for more than 2-3 hours. Still not confident in getting the 4-7" the NWS "promised" me at 4 pm, lol. I'll be surprised if we get more than another 2" here - very doable to get 4-6" more where those bands are out west.

And just got in from our fourth and maybe last shoveling - can't imagine doing it all at once. Anyway, From 5 pm to 9 pm we got another 1.0 " That brings me up to 16.0". It's been snowing fairly lightly, but with temps still slightly below freezing (31F) and at night, every flake accumulates. I could see getting another inch or so overnight, looking at the radar and the HRRR. The models haven't been great for the tail end of this storm, but the 0Z NAM and HRRR both show a general 2-4" for CNJ/NNJ/NYC between 1 am Tues and 1 am Weds.

23 inches in NE Bergen County. If I hadn't done the first pass with the blower in the early afternoon I would have been screwed, just finished the second pass and it is heavier.

Good news everybody! Alternate side of the street parking is going to be discontinued for a while....

Im at 33 with snizzle, pingers and light rain....we got about 13-14 inches here and that looks to be it IMO pending on any heavy band that briefly moves through tomorrow. Models still show potential but we shall see, they certainly were not saying i would be above freezing right now

Some of us told you it probably would as that band pivoted - people call bust a little too early - how much total?

I'm not going out there, I WFH and don't see myself going out until it melts off my truck. @Postman_1 is nearby he can update on the tots.
