Peterson out 8 weeks.

That is at most. Could be back much sooner
Maybe, but consider the following from the Mets website:

Peterson has a strained right oblique. This type of strain, which is between Grade 1 and Grade 2, typically carries a recovery period of about eight weeks, according to manager Luis Rojas. But the Mets are confident that Peterson won’t require quite that much time to heal, which would hint at a return before the end of August.

So... the normal recovery period is eight weeks. Then he'll need at least a couple rehab starts. So we're talking mid-late September if he returns this year at all.

BUT, for reasons unknown to us mere mortals, the Mets think that their medical staff will have him back sooner. As in before the end of August. Not sure how much before, but the end of August would be eight weeks.

I would add that the Mets experience with duration of injuries should teach us that there ain't no such thing as "at most".

I think you’re having trouble keeping up with the conversation.
Not at all. First, I do understand he is way underperforming his contract and expectations. My comment had to do with “table setter”

now, something that does make me feel a little better. If you take his last month or so, he would be in the .260 30HR range for a season. So, he is getting there but most likely ends more in the .250 20HR range but I vacantly see I’m scoring 100
Still not worth 300+ but I bet over the next 10 years- we love having this guy

Eh, still not understanding the history (and a short one) off that conversation. But that’s alright. Happy Fourth.

Is a certain fanbase laying in the weeds waiting to pounce?🤷‍♂️

Not going to lie, yesterday was my favorite win of the season. Let’s hope we have more like that. All we need now is JD and Villar to get back.
Villar played seven innings for Syracuse last night. Davis played six. Mets policy has been that rehabbing players must play nine innings back to back prior to activation. So my guess is midweek at the earliest.

Alonso is trying too hard to be that "guy" for the team. He could use some time off just like Castro, who looks like he's hit the wall. The All-Star break couldn't come soon enough.

Do you think Conforto regrets not getting a contract done before the season? He seems like another guy who is pressing because he understands what is at stake.

Lindor strikes again. Every game he gets a ball stuck in his glove or bobbles it on the exchange.

not a baseball fan so objective observation here: the runner was clearly there first. Wtf were they looking at? and after a replay?! A real head scratcher
Use of replay sound allow them to make the correct call rather then “he got there first”. With that said bag clearly moves when Nimmo hits it first.

Alonso has as big a hole in his swing as an old pair of worn socks. And I'm sure by now every team in baseball knows it. That's why he'll probably never be much more than a .250 type hitter who hits around 30 home runs off mistake pitches.

Belt high
Middle away to judge , clearly and easily in the strike box
Instead of 1-2
2-1 judge dribbles ball for single next pitch

Wait a minute. Are Split (Day/Night) DHs 7 innings or 9? I could see being 7 for a back to back DH. But charging full price for a seven inning game would be ludicrous.

They talked about this yesterday on the Mets broadcast. Keith thinks they should give the ticket holders some compensation as game 1 was originally a 9 inning game but now 7

I am just concerned that Pete is defending his HR title

edit: oops did not age well
