Smaller court and you can the the ball if it bounces off the netting ( like raquetball except netting and not walls). Look at it on YouTube.Difference between this and pickle ball?

I didn’t ask him if my street will flood but rather the certainty of flooding based on the forecast. Numbers gave his answer and I moved on but thanks for taking a simple question and being a smart ass about it.How is he supposed to know if your street will flood? It’s such a local thing as street flooding varies from block to block in any town
Agreed on the smart ass but some of the questions people ask him are a little silly. Long Valley is a great part of the state . I come home thru there from work most days . My family and I like taking rides on Rt, 24 in Chester down thru Califon and beyond . We also enjoy going to The Long Valley Pub and Brewery . We went there for a good new years eve dinner .Long Valley thru Mt Olive and into Sussex always seemed to get the worst when I lived up that way.

I understand. That wasn’t my intention. I never participate in these weather threads and just wanted an opinion on the situation.Agreed on the smart ass but some of the questions people ask him are a little silly. He’s not Nostradamus.
Metuchen/South Plainfield with 30-45 minutes of snow. Much be 4-5 inches but now!! Uh I mean it is sticking, with a solid dusting thus far.A lot of my cousins who grew up in Long Valley have worked there over the years.
I love being at the beach and Monmouth County in general and wouldn't trade it for anything but Morris County is very nice.
Was just busting chops - oddly, we're getting light snow all the way up here with a light dusting on the ground. None of the snow that falls before 7 pm should amount to more than an inch north of the Raritan, but we might see a couple of inches by then from Philly to Toms River and south of that (even more towards Balt/DE/AC by 7 pm). But with cold temps and everything accumulating on untreated surfaces, even an inch can be an issue on backroads and for walking.More of just a weird observation. Storm is approaching from the South and West. Yet towns 30 + miles North and West have been reporting snow for an hour.
Once our son outgrew our small sledding hill across the street by about age 10-11, Schooley Mountain in Long Valley became our sledding hill. As I'm sure you know, it's got about a 150 foot vertical with hay bales to keep sledders from hitting the tree line and it's about a 1/4 mile run down the hill. I'd pile my son and 2-3 of his friends into the car and we'd have a blast sledding for hours up there and ate more than a few meals at the Long Valley Pub. My son's now 26 and living back at home during COVID and we were just talking about going back up there after the snow stops, for old time's sake (it's probably been since he was 18 and went off to college).Long Valley is a great part of the state . We saw a minor SE trend at 12Z, such that at least a couple of the models get you up to 6" of snow; others have 2-4".Temps trending warmer the rest of the day here up to mid 40s so likely just lots of rain

If you think a single Crowler top being put on is cool go visit a brewery with their own canning line. That's very cool with the speed it's done.Snow Snow Snow!!
Ok, now about the beer in Long Valley. Just yesterday, I went through there and picked up a Crowler from Chilton Brewing (next to Valley Restaurant). Got the Louisiana Breakfast Stout -- 8%. Really good, IMO. Never saw how they closed the tops on those things, so that was cool. Hope to get back there when the outdoor patio is open.
12Z models still bombing the entire area with 12-24" of snow (north of 276/195 in all models and down to Philly and interior SNJ in some models). Will update that later. But for now, the NWS-Philly has updated their snowfall map and the regional one has been updated with both showing several more inches of snow in the forecast. Basically, everyone north of a line from about Ewing to Freehold (and up to about Highlands, as several inches less will likely fall on the immediate Monmouth coast) is in their 18-24" swath, with 12-18" extending north of a line from about Philly to NW Ocean County and up to about Asbury Park up to the line above. My 19" forecast for my house isn't looking so bold now, lol.Not a bad prediction of what the NWS would do. They issued warnings for almost everywhere (Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Somerset is for 13-18") went to 12-18" for most of CNJ/NNJ/NYC/LI/NEPA, with 18-24" swaths embedded in that area and they also went up to 8-12" for south of 276/195 and less towards the coast. I like how they've worked up to this rather than going right to these amounts 24 hours ago, when they could have just based on models. Hard to imagine getting less than 12" along/NW of 95, from Trenton to NYC at this point or north of 195 and west of about Howell to Highlands.
Time for a prediction: I'll be bold and go for 19" at my house, which is roughly the average from the 0Z models tonight. Maybe not that bold looking at the latest 6Z NAM (21" for my house), 3KNAM (25") and RGEM (19"). I'm sure there will still be some surprises though - some will likely get more than what's shown (where the best bands are) and some will get less (especially if more rain/sleet mixes in for the coast and even towards 95, which can't be ruled out). And more or less precip could make a signficant difference, obviously. Time for some sleep, as I'm sure there's little sleep in store the next two nights.

Oh yea, the hill still has the hay bales and A LOT of people use the hill . I have taken my son up there a few times . Started playing both platform tennis and pickleball about a year ago. Both are great fun. In my opinion, any four reasonably athletic people could walk off the street and quickly be adept at playing a fun, competitive game of pickle. Paddle, on the other hand, has a considerably longer learning curve to be above average.Smaller court and you can the the ball if it bounces off the netting ( like raquetball except netting and not walls). One of the best things about winter is the selection of stouts.Snow Snow Snow!!

Never too late or too old to go sledding. But I am not 60 yet so it is easy for me to say. But the hill is great !If it's the hill I'm thinking of, that thing is legit for sledding.
Always wanted to get my sled up there, but folks didn't really drive us to sled so had to stick within walking distance.

If you have a direct vent HVAC system make sure your exhaust is clear. With wind gust we can get drifts approaching 3 ft
That is a bold statement from you!!With wind gust we can get drifts approaching 3 ft

Yes, protection is always important, especially with 10 inches or more. The Hillsborough Deli just sent an email blast. They will be closing at 2 today and remain closed until Tuesday morning. They said if venturing out make sure you protect yourself. It will get mushy out. Don't forget the gloves and rubbers.
Oh I believe your are right.I've done some open lots in storms like this and they can get quite large with this amount.
