OT- OFFICIAL 2017 YANKEES SEASON THREAD

CC and Betances didn't get the job done tonight.
When are we gonna put Chapman back at closer ?

Tanaka cost us this one.
Anyone think he opts out at the end of this season ?

I don't think he will. Too much inconsistency/health issues to give a larger contract. If he does opt out, I think the Yanks let him walk.

Nice day for the Yanks so far! Judge up to 41 homers, only the second rookie in MLB history to hit 40 or more. 90 RBIs, nice to get up to 100 by the end of the season.

And he already broke the walks record for rookies - 107 and counting.

I guess 2-out-of-3 ain't bad, but we should have swept the Rays.
Still sweating Betances and Chapman coming in. It looks like we may need to make room in the back of the bullpen for Chad Green.
How many years did we sign Aroldis for ?

Its not like the Rays suck and the game they lost took an 8th inning home run.
Have no faith in Chapman or Betances this year. They remind me of Mitch Williams in 93. Flame throwers but rarely a 1-2-3 inning

Not sure if anyone saw this the other week, but apparently CC bought the entire team Todd Frazier apparel to wear on their flight

And started a gesture when he hits a home run, mocking a rays fan from citifield:

Even though he hasn't been tearing the cover off the ball, seems like he's been a great locker room guy and the type of veteran presence needed if the yankees want to make a deep playoff run.

Nice job by CC. Good game last night, 2 HRs for Judge, 1 for Sanchez, 1 for RU Frazier, and the other Frazier had a few good swings. Yanks roll.

Avoided the board for about 5 days after last weekend. Glad to see the Yanks still going strong. Not sure if they'll catch the Sox, but they are killing the ball right now. Cash has done an excellent job with this team. Deserves the biggest GM contract in baseball.

Severino reached out to Pedro Martinez last offseason for help. Whatever he did, it worked wonders. The guy has established himself as a true ace this season.

And that shortstop for the Yankees is having a fine season.

Sanchez is pretty good too, considering all the time he's missed. Or as someone calls, Gary "Maas" Sanchez. LOL

The team is peaking at the right time. I was not 100% all in on this team's ability to win it all previously. But now I am. What an amazing job by the entire team, coaches, owners, scouts to get this team to where it is now.

With 10 games to play, chances are very bright for wild card playoff game at Yankee Stadium but dimming for the AL East. However, Yankee fans probably want to root for the Houston Astros and Cleveland Indians to stay within reach of each other battling for home field advantage in the post season.

Why should Yankee fans care about that? Because the Red Sox last four games are at Fenway against the Astros. Figure if Yanks can shave Red Sox lead to two games (or less) by Thursday of next week, there's an outside chance of possibly catching the Red Sox.

Chris Sale joins Randy Johnson, Pedro Martinez, Clayton Kershaw, and Aaron Judge as the only
players since 2000 with 300+ strikeouts in a single season. :)

It's a shame this season is gunna come down to one game against an inferior team.

Check out the Bosux record in extra inning games and compare that to the Yankees record this season in extra inning games.
If either one was more like the norm the Bosux would be in 2nd place.

Judge hits two more homers today. One away from Mcgwire's rookie record.
Now if he can just stay hot for a few more weeks.

Today's afternoon game between the Kansas City Royals and Yankees at the Stadium is a make-up of a May 25th rain out. Royals had to fly out after Sunday's afternoon game at Chicago to play this afternoon and then fly back out for a Tuesday night game against the Tigers.

Yanks clinch a playoff spot, Judge hits #49 and ties the all-time HR record for rookies. Go Yanks!

Judge making strong push for MVP in American League with outstanding numbers for home runs, runs scored, rbis and walks all as a rookie.
