Beane is better than Sandy. How he constantly places a winner out in Oakland with that budget is incredible. Give him money and he'll have a winner.
I wouldn’t want BB in a major market. Imagine if he was running the Jeter Yankees. Jeter, Bernie, Mo all would have been traded for prospects at about the age of 30 and just starting to get paid the big bucks…

So you're saying it's okay to reinvent the wheel? I find today's leadership in baseball make the game more complicated than it has to be. I'm all for the advancement of the game, but not at the cost of forgetting the fundies that got you this far.
There's a lot to take out of his quote. It's always been a one up in baseball in trying to determine how to put a winner together. We can go back 100 years and lot of rule changes to show it. Football the same.
