He was a bit of a diva during last season anyway, so i figured he would be the odd man out.
Burnes is not coming after the Fried signing.
They are most likely getting a 3B and slide Jazz back to 2nd. I also think they will be riding with Rice and probably a low priced backup. I would be on Bregman and maybe a Bellinger trade if the price comes down.
I'm not a Bellinger fan due to his erratic performance over the years but he makes sense because he can play both 1B or OF as needed. I really think they want to give the Martian some run this year to see if he can fill the the OF void, however.
Gotta get a LH bat...Bellinger can be Rizzo 2.0, minus the injuries.
Not sure what the Cubs want other than a salary dump.

Step #3 looks good. Step #4 needs to be Bregman and it will be a successful offseason.

They're going after a first baseman. They've already contacted the big 4 - Fat Pete, Walker, Santana and Goldy.

Roughly 285 million estimated towards payroll so far. They can do it though, but it will be tight after that without dumping some salary.
That's possible if they wanted to spend the money. It will be interesting to see how far they go.
Fried officially signed his contract today. One amazing fact - he was on the same high school team as Jack Flaherty and Lucas Giolito. That's nuts.
I think he ends up at first for multiple reasons. He is a better first baseman than OF. Defensively Dominguez is better at center then he or Judge is.

Jeter was pure brilliance when it came to women. One of my best friends lived in Tampa. Hi daughter dated Jeter on and off for almost a year.
This was how he would do it and never had crazy women hound him. He never was the one to do a fist introduction. His personal trainer was usually the one to talk to a girl first. In her case- the guy came up to her at the Gym- she was actually working the juice bar. Introduced himself first and no mention of Derrick - found out if single or not, what she was doing outside of working at the gym, etc...just would get a good vibe going. All along- he would be sizing her up to see if she was a crazy or if she was a beautiful girl with her head on straight. Derrick liked his girls to be independent.
after all that- it was when he told her that Derrick was the one interested in meeting her and if she would be interested.
And then he would give the ground rules.
1) You do not randomly call or text Derrick - ever
2) Derrick will not come to your house or apartment
3) Dates will be confirmed in advance and of Derrick's choice but the girl was always welcome if a girl wanted to try someplace new
4) If you are ever out and see Derrick with another girl, you do not approach and respect his time with his date.
5) When you are out with Derrick, you will have his full attention and you are his number one during his time with you.
Because of number 5- this girls all respected each other and Derrick. She said he was always just the best most attentive date she had ever been on.
Wonder if PG is on a hard downward slip or if he just started to get bored in StL? Was MVP just a couple of years ago.
Agree, but he's 37, I believe, can't be much left in the tank.
Rice really tailed off last season after a decent start. Don't know what to think.
