OT: Hurricane Ian to Bring Major to Catastrophic Impacts to Cuba/Florida (and 2022 Tropical Weather Thread):

It doesn't annoy me at all. I'm just continually baffled over why any purported adult would spend so much time being so outwardly childish.
It all boils down to inherent insecurities and unhappiness, and picking on a person who is obviously happy with his life and passionate about a few things. Yet, the so-called adult will project how great his life is, when in reality, he is unhappy and needs to project and put down others to make himself feel better. I run into a lot of these types outside of my professional career. I used to try to challenge them and argue with them, but it is mostly a useless and frustrating exercise.

Just saw on the link posted above and again below, which has best live coverage I have found, showing a Sheriff's trailer for Lee County floating down the street. It's a very large trailer.

I (obviously) can't help taunting and teasing them a little. One of my childish character flaws. 😃

I will never understand why people don't heed warnings. I get it that a major hurricane hasn't hit that area for 100 years, but forecasts had this thing pegged pretty well for days. It's a lottery that you don't want to play.
My father was a merchant seaman for 45 yrs, sailed everywhere and was as bull-headed as they come. He retired to Galveston and stayed to ride out one of the hurricanes in the late '90's - early '00's, I think it was. After the storm, he said he would never do that again. That was one hell of an admission coming from him.

100%. No question. I sincerely hope that no politician dares to oppose aid to Florida.

If you actually read the article, your hope should be that politicians stop attaching items to emergency spending bills that have nothing to do with the emergency, knowing that type of legislation usually gets passed quickly with little scrutiny.

In a way, I've been a semen since conception.

Larding up emergency spending bills is as old as the hills. The Southern Pols could have easily picked another bill to kill. Voting against Sandy aid was a terrible, terrible look.

Our granddaughters other grandparents live in Fort Myers Beach on Estero Blvd. That camera is located 4.3 miles North of their residence. We don't know if they left or stayed.

Just ate lunch at an awesome mom and pop Mexican place in OCNJ and played a round of disc golf at a cool new course at Stockton and just got to scroll through all the great posts. Well done all and thanks. Now off to Borgata...

Interesting way to report the hurricane path

I didn't know Sharknado was a documentary. The irony of Ian Ziering starring in Sharknado and this happening during Hurricane Ian.
